modest hotel but the amenities, facilities, staff and food were beyond expectation.
Room was small but clean and have an excellent rain shower, very comfortable bed with soft pillows; just as you would expect from a 4 or 5 star hotel. Really !

The staff were really attentive and efficient. I had loads of requests and all were met with smiles and they were superbly efficient. The conference facilities were really good. view from the top floor was really nice.
Great budget hotel. Well worth it !

We were supposed to come back to Kuching in November but ‘cause we missed the lobster & LimeTree so much, we decided to speed up the trip 3 months earlier!

Serinah, as usual, is the epitome of a great concierge. She replied our emails promptly, even offering to help us rent a car with a GPS so that we could explore Kuching better. The moment we stepped in LimeTree, there she was at the reception, with a great big smile, greeting us with “Hi! I thought I saw a familiar face. Welcome back!” Certainly made our day.

We took a Superior this time, having tried Deluxe on our last visit. The Superior King was certainly more spacious, though there weren’t any windows. We loved the extremely comfy bed, which was so nice to lie in after a hearty meal at TopSpot, a mere 2 minutes’ drive from the hotel.

Having tried the Black Pepper Lobster the last round, we decided to have a go at the RM50 Lobster Tiga Rasa which was fantastic! So lip-smacking that we practically pack it in plastic containers & flew it back home with us, much to the delight of our families in KL!

With the simple yet tasty breakfast buffet, the free Wi-Fi, the super clean & cozy rooms, the ample parking space, the wonderful location and the amazing staff, we couldn’t have wished for a better base for us in Kuching. We’ll be back real soon.

Just spent 3 great nights at this lovely hotel in Kuching.
The hotel is really good value with lots of little extras like free mini bar and toiletries in the executive room.
The service at limetree was the best we have had in Malaysia. All the staff are happy to help and always smiling.
The lime theme throughout is great. Lime soda as a free welcome drink, lime toiletries, lime marmalade, and amazing lime mojitos on the roof top bar which were really good value.
Breakfast was very good with a good choice and very nice curry!
Helpful staff organised a trip to the orang utans for us for only 35rm each. Would also recommend an excellent cookery course in Kuching at bumbu cooking school. Very good value and one of the best activities we did and lovely food.
The hotel is about 15 mins from the main bazar where there are lots of restaurants (bla bla bla and living room are very good).
Would thoroughly recommend this hotel an kuching as a city is lovely!

A very pleasant hotel to stay in. Centrally located near Jalan Padungan which is the main shopping street and only a five minutes walk to the Sarawak River and the Kuching Waterfront boulevard.

The hotel rooms (Superior King) are big, bathrooms (all bathroom amenities like shampoo, bath gel and body lotion are lemon based) with rainshower, hairdryer, television, free WIFI, safe and minibar The airconditioner is working perfectly and is silent. Beds are real king and comfortable.

Three elevators bring you up to your room or to the Roof Terrace on the fifth floor where one can enjoy the complimentary lime soda drink offered by the hotel while watching the cityscape below. or brings you down to the reception/lobby area where the breakfast room is located. Breakfast buffet is basic but has a good choice.

Tours can be booked from the "concierge" who is sitting in front of the reception desk. We booked a tour to Sarawak Cultural Village is a living museum of the major racial groups in Sarawak and their lifestyle amidst 14 acres of tropical vegetation. We particularly enjoyed the Cultural Dance Show where one can admire the different costumes and musical rhythms.

We also booked a tour to the Semonggoh Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre which is a MUST!! Located some 20 km from Kuching it is the place where you can see Orang Utans in the semi-wild up close. An amazing experience!! Try to go there for the first feeding time at 09.00am and you'll see these huge animals slowly coming down the trees while the birds, insects and other jungle animals assure you of their background music.

The Lime Tree Hotel in Kuching is the place to stay!!!

Kuching is a wonderful town, and the LimeTree Hotel is a very well run property that offered everything I wanted and needed for my short stay there in May 2011. I booked a suite because it came with free airport transfers. I estimate the higher price was worth the money i saved on taxis to and from the airport. The hotel is clean and chic. My suite was actually just one enormous room with king bed, desk, couch and coffee table/ottoman, plus a large closet and enough hardwood floor space for a dance contest. One entire wall of the high-ceilinged room was a window overlooking the river, which was about two blocks away. The curtains adequately blocked the light. The bathroom (toilet, sink, walk-in shower, and separate jacuzzi tub) was fine and offered good toiletries. I didn't try the tub. The design of the sink was rather strange, and I couldn't figure out how to stop it up to rinse clothes, but I could have used the tub. The room came with free wifi, TV, a small fruit basket, and a refrigerator with a few free drinks. The hotel has a rooftop lounge/bar with both indoor and outdoor spaces. The lobby has a small restaurant and gift shop. The room came with a very tasty and diverse breakfast buffet, with both Western and Malaysian food options. I also ate one lunch there, which was ggod and arrived quickly as my schedule required. The best thing about the hotel, though, is the service. In addition to the airport transfer service, the front desk can arrange a variety of outings at prices comparable to arranging them on your own, with the advantage of van pickup/drop off at the hotel. I used them to book trips to the orangutan sanctuary and the Sarawak Cultural Village, both of which I recommend. I had separately booked an overnight trip to Bako National Park, for which I stored my luggage at the hotel with no problem or charge. The hotel is on the edge of Kuching's Chinatown, with a wide variety of restaurants and several banks within a block or so. It's maybe a 10-minute walk to the riverfront promenade, and you can walk all the way to the other side of downtown in 30 to 45 minutes. I felt perfectly safe walking around alone late at night. I might not be the most centrally located hotel, but I would recommend it. I would stay there again if I ever have the opportunity to return to Kuching.

Dear WordGirlDC,

Thank you for choosing to stay at The LimeTree Hotel on your recent trip to Kuching and for taking the time to write a comprehensive review on TripAdvisor. My team and I are delighted to learn that your stay was a positive one and that you enjoyed the hotel facilities and amenities available in the Executive Suite! With regard to the bathroom sink, one will need to gently push down the pop-up waste in order to retain the water in the sink.

Overall, we are grateful for your commendation of us to others, and we will continue to improve our facilities and services rendered by our team. We thank you for your kind comments and we look forward to having you with us again!
