My wife and I stayed at the Lime Tree for four nights. Though this was our first trip to Kuching, our stay was a good one . The front office staff was very friendly especially Ms Eliza who gave as good information.

Breakfast was good though can be better. Maybe the next time I've got to get pisang tanduk as banana fritters.

The room was clean but the maids could vacuum the floor too for thoroughness.

The hotel is near to a laundry, a Bing bistro and also restaurants.

Then we moved to Pullman for three nights.

I'll come back to The Lime Tree Hotel on my next visit.

There are rooms for improvement though and that's the reason I gave a very good rating not the excellent.

Room Tip: Get the corner rooms.

Went there last week for a short 1 day business trip with 2 of my staffs. Was given room at 2nd floor, facing the road. My 2 staffs got twin bed room facing the other side. So, my brief review as below:

The goods: great location, can walk to nearby restaurants e.g. topspot, ayam bakar, waterfront, etc. Staffs were friendly and accomodating. The rooftop bar is ok. Breakfast is delicious albeit not so much choices.

The not so good: since my room is 2nd floor facing the road, it was noisy from cars and bikes passing by. It did affect my sleep. The wardrobe is pathetic. Just a small open wardrobe. Maybe for 1 person only. My staffs, who occupied the other room, complaint of a/c not working (central a/c with control pad on the wall). My room toilet also not working properly. Had to flushed few times.

Hence: if u want to book here, try request for higher floors not facing Jalan Abell. I don't think this hotel is suitable for family. The room was a bit small. Otherwise, my short stay here is just average-good.

Dear Jasman H,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on your stay at our hotel. We are glad to learn that our team had served you well and that you found our location favourable,

We would also like to apologize for the discomfort experienced from the noise disturbance as mentioned; we will continue to ensure sound dampening materials for all rooms are effective. I have also personally checked the said the air-conditioning and toilet systems in the respective rooms and found them to be in good order; we nevertheless thank you for bringing these issues to our attention and we will continue to observe this matter. We hope our Front Desk team members were able to able to assist you if they had been made known of these issues during your stay.

The Deluxe room you had occupied was of 185 sq ft in size, designed with a minimalist feel and equipped with necessities essential for a short stay, including a luggage rack and a specially-designed compact wardrobe to suit the room layout. Our Front Desk team members are able to advise on our various room types and perhaps would have recommended for your stay, the Executive rooms as a room choice if made known of your preference for a bigger room and a larger wardrobe space. I have shared your comments with our Front Office and Sales team for their attention to endeavour to recommend options suitable for our guests' travel needs in order to facilitate their decisions. You may also wish to know that we have Family Suites and adjoining Deluxe rooms with connecting doors, which are suitable to accommodate a group of 4 persons.

Your comments are important to us and we remain committed to exceed our guests' expectations with our services and to provide quality accommodation at great value. We thank you for your review and we hope to have the opportunity to serve you again in the future. In the meantime, wishing you safe travels!

Kind regards,

My first time to Kuching with my father. We are really happy of our stay here, part of the big reason is because of The Lime Tree hotel.

Staff : Really friendly and helpful. I'm amazed by their kindness in helping people. Smile is always found on them. Sweet!

Room: Although it is a bit small, but it is good enough if you are looking for balance between value and cost. It is really clean and equipped well with fundamental features, even hair dryer is provided. Mini fridge could be provided upon request.

Breakfast: Good buffet with a variety of choice. Excellent!

Lobby : Chilling and spacious area to chill with your mates.

Location: Walking distance to Kuching Waterfront is about 15 minutes. A bit far compared to other hotels. But, try walking around, it is super safe and fulfil your purpose of sightseeing. =D

Check the 5th floor balcony lounge too! Great view with no tall building blocking your view.
They even gave us complimentary welcome drink. Sweet!

If you are looking for super luxurious stay with gym and swimming pool, this might not be your best option. However, you should really consider this if you are looking for decent stay with good food and people.

Thank you, The LimTree Hotel for granting me a super memorable experience in Kuching. Bravo!

Room Tip: Choose behind room, quieter.

Three of us stayed at the LimeTree hotel in April - all of us agreed that it was great value for the price. The location is walkable to Kuching city (though it is a hot walk!) and there are plenty of bars & cafes in walking distance as well. Overall, a sweet little boutique hotel which was great value!

We loved the rooftop bar - after a full day's activities in the sun we could never be bothered to go find proper nightlife, so the bar in the hotel was a great place to chill, have a few cocktails & sometimes watch the evening storms roll through.

Also, some others have commented on the noise in room 109 - I was staying in this room & never heard any traffic noise. Basically, if you keep the windows shut & the air conditioning on, you'll be fine!

We like private owned hotels and for the money this didn't disappoint, the staff are a credit to the management . We booked a tour to see the Orangutans and the Longhouses via the hotel as it was cheaper than messing around with Taxis, the guide was excellent , we had time on our own and he was always around to answer questions very knowledgeable guy. ( this tour company is the same one that Kuoni Travel use, so know they are good) We also used the shuttle service to the boat to Bako, very safe young driver and to the airport. Looked around town and the hotel prices for these services were very competitive and we booked it all the day before we wanted to go. Loved the roof top bar, unusual in a small hotel like this.

Room Tip: We had a room at the back on the 4th floor , we also stayed on a Saturday night and were very surpri...

Spent the last 5 nights at the Lime Tree. Everything about it was excellent but the best thing they have is their staff. from the moment you walk through the front door the staff greet you with a lovely smile and a pleasant manner. The spacious enough room was great on the 4 th floor. Lovely light timber floors white spreads and a small lime green cushion. The ensuite was spacious and both the room and ensuite spotless. The breakfast,is A plus with a wide variety of continental and cooked items plus fruit bead and buns and cake AND the Lime Jam is to die for. There was also pleanty of Asia food and good coffee. The area is pleasantly presently with lots of white and some lime green but not over done. The lunch food is excellent and their curry was yummy. We ate at the rooftop restaurant on two occasions and ordered the 3 course meal with tea or coffee for 38 ringets $13.00 aussie. Cocktails are $18.00r $6.00 Aussie. The rooftop is a pleasant place to eat. Did 2 tours from there and they were ordinary but then we had the best tour with Kuching Off-road who gave us the best tour we have ever had so I guess we were spoilt. It,was, off the beaten track and not touristy. Found it on the web. And booked before we arrived and can only say to go go on that one. The staff of the hotel are a credit to the management...Well done. The gift shop has the best gifts and are cheap compared and better quality than else where. Would stay again and would recommend it. Cannot fault it go have The Lime of your life
