“Nice environment, but far away of The center of The city”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 July 2012

When you dont need much luxury and you dont find it à problem that the hotel is à bit far away of The center toen is this à fine hotel for à good price. À lot of familys on this resort style hotel.
Waiting for transport to The center takes some time.

Location lets this gorgeous place down. Totally adorable and full of love. Dont expect a hot shower - but really in that temp you dont need it.
Safe, clean, super comfy bed, delisious food, quiet apart from the new puppies next door.
Remember to check out the beauty salons next door. Very cute.

Don't be decieved about the photo you saw in the webside, this ex-driving school premises is rather small than we imagine. It cramp squeezing at a side road, beside a shanty row of private residential heading to town. Service was slow, staff lack of initiative, it run out of energy. After landed,(frm plane) we check-in,then we head to the restaurant but untill now,we were still wondering whether it open during lunch time? I notice a few staff but they clearly pretend we were invisible. After suggested by the gardener, we head towards a nearby coffe shop,to our dissapointment, they only left with mee jawa and chicken. Hungry & despair, we had to fork out $12rm for a taxi ride to the nearest shopping,"spring". The ideal thing about basaga is their well decorated, cozy furnishing with touchs of colonial charm. They shall include "bell air" air purifier lavender oil scents to induce the mood. Housekeeping was call off aft 5p.m. Don't expect any kind like room service coz there is not even any phone inside the room. We expect that with fewer room,we will be treated knittly and closely, but when we saw a staff jargonning with diffrent task,I guess they are trying to save cost=poor performance or quality. With the amount i paid a night cost me with the same if I stay at pullman, i will think twice to stay here again with this type of service they rendered to us.

Wonderful hospitality from everyone at Basaga over the weekend; from the pick up driver at the airport who made a pit stop at The Spring so I could pick up my race bib (I was in Kuching for a run), the guard who opened the gate for me early on Sunday morning and dropped me off at The Spring on his bike when the
cab didn’t show up, the servers at the restaurant who so kindly brought dinner to my room and the warm greetings of everyone at the reception. I’ll be back for sure even without a run at The Spring. Many many thanks to everyone at Basaga.

I stayed here at the beginning of June and was very pleasantly surprised. My room was a very reasonably priced large clean room based in a hotel just outside Kuching city centre. The hotel has a free shuttle which runs twice a day should you wish to go there and the staff can advise on where to go and what to see.

I had a room on the first (upper) floor of the verandah which was a good size with a comfortable, kingsize bed and good en-suite shower room. The breakfast, included with my room, and served in the restaurant/bar area was always very good and freshly cooked to order. The hotel also has a very good pool area which is maintained on a daily basis.

The staff on the front desk were very professional, polite and friendly. They organised tours (one girl in particular was excellent. I didn't catch her name but I got her and Zora mixed up who was also very good in organising my transport from the airport to the hotel).

Would stay here again as I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would also recommend it to others.

Room Tip: Choose a first (upper) floor room
