This hotel is quite good in most respects. The room is comfortable, the pool is great, the breakfast buffet was good and it is centrally located. But like their wi-fi, the staff are quite distant and don't connect well. In our entire trip, this was the only place where there were no bright smiles, happy greetings and ready help.
You can walk to the waterside from the hotel and there are some shops below the hotel as well. Cabs are very expensive here, so we used the services only for the trip to see orangutans, etc. Otherwise, everything else is just walking distance and that's very convenient. You can download the phone app called MyTeksi. They were giving lovely discounts and offers for online booking and for airport drops.

Room Tip: Avoid the travel desk in the hotel as they are very expensive and also not very well informed. Try C...

This is a comfortable, well-run hotel located in the center of town.

The good:

- the rooms are spacious, comfortable and very well equipped (they even had yoga mats and dumbbells!)
- nice pool
- friendly, efficient service
- excellent buffet breakfast

Not so good:

- poor wifi in the room
- amateurish service in the main bar

The hotel has elegantly furnished and spacious rooms and bathrooms, an excellent breakfast buffet and a nice pool (that is why I choose this hotel). Staff is friendly and very helpful, the in house travel agency even discouraged me from going to the Orang Utan center because at that time no Orang Utans were around, which was confirmed by many frustrated travelers. The only problem in the hotel is noise from neighboring rooms like TV and shower, I could even hear the elevator which was two rooms down the corridor.

We had food in the hotel pool bar - big mistake. Half of our food took 50 minutes to arrive and only then were we told that the other half was "sold out". We had to reorder for 4 hungry children and the reordered food didn't arrive for another 45 minutes, in the end we spent nearly 2 hours waiting for our food to arrive. But the most unbelievable thing is that we were still charged for every item of food and received no real apology, even after complaining to the front desk manager. We had a room that had a connecting door to another room (not ours) and the sound proofing between rooms was appalling. Late into the night we endured a blaring Tv, screaming child and loud speaking voices. We had a very early breakfast and I also believe that some of the buffet displayed at that time was leftover food from the previous night's dinner buffet. While in Kuching we also stayed at the Limetree which was a much better experience, as well as being better value.

Room Tip: Avoid a room with a connecting door to another room.
