The great so-called hi-end 5-star business oblong hotel with some 380 rooms sits on the hilltop of the city overlooking the 2.0 km long riverside esplanade offering panoramic vista of the city and distant mountain range...
Deluxe rooms and suites are beautifully designed with utilitarian features though short of 5-star hotel basics and average housekeeping standard. Aircon in the vast fantastic lobby offers ideal cool comfort but not so much in the rooms upstairs.
Its most outstanding guest hospitality are none other than the Front Desk team led by duty managers, Bob Richael and Jamal H Heran iconic of Kuching's quality service with smiles!!!
Don't forget to patronise its renown Cantonese Nu Er Hong Restaurant managed by the great David Tan, the restaurant manager and his team. Its chef is truly 5-star serving delicious Cantonese cuisines with prices comparable to fast food items from Secret Recipe in nearby Merdeka Shopping Complex ! Cafe by the Lobby serves marvelous buffet breakfast ...
The city offers prompt and low-cost taxi and grab transport for city and rural sightseeing and eco tours though without public buses.
Definitely worthwhile for revisiting especially during school vacation with only 01 hour direct flight from Singapore via Scoots!

The room is huge and clean. It's in good shape. The A/C works very well. Good and free wifi. The outside of the hotel is bad compare to the rooms which are really ok.
The lounge has a good selection of food for the evening, limited selection of beverage but acceptable. Probably the best choice in Kuching at a reasonable price.

Stayed 1 night for business trip for twin sharing with a single King size bed. Seriously large room about 45m2, big enough for single occupant. Nice unblocked view as the hotel is sitting on a hill. Aircon is good and shower temperature is nice too. TV image is not sharp, wifi is good especially for business used, shampoo and body shower soap seems to be the same. Very limited electric sockets if you have more than 1 appliance or charger for your PC, ipad or handphone. Hope to have better sound proofing on the corridor. No issue for the sound outside window. No balcony.
Hotel near Chinatown area where you can get good local foods just by 10min walking. Some local pubs next to hotel for a swing of beers. Family karaoke situated within hotel compound. As for food, would like to recommend their local char siew and siew yok(roast lean pork and roast pork belly respectively, kolo mee and for those who preferred spicy, must try Sarawak Laksa. Last but not least, must try local wild vegetable which could be the only place in the world you can eat it, it's called Paku Kubuk(refer to photo).
Day trip agency available just beside hotel breakfast banquet that arrange day trip to see Orang-utan and others sightseeing tours. Easy to use Grab for transportation, just need to download app. Don't leave Kuching without their signature pepper powder, both white or black.
