I really wanted to like Aloha, as there is a distinct lack of quality bread makers in Kuching. Most simply churn out factory style tasteless loafs, that do little justice to bread making. So when I heard about Aloha and its lofty reputation, I was cautiously optimistic.
I therefore made a visit to try out their wholemeal bread. Unfortunately, it had too mild a taste of wholemeal and was ultra soft - therefore varied little from what is sold in certain other chain bakers in the city. Its a shame really, that really good quality wholemeal bread cannot apparently be acquired in Kuching. Possibly its just something that doesn't agree with enough locals taste buds.
On a more positive note, whilst i did not sample the cakes - some of them did look well presented and tasty. Maybe another visit will see me choose something else instead of the bland tasting bread.
