“Nothing more than a backpackers bar”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 May 2013 via mobile

It's a little bad that happens to play good music, however other than that there is really nothing much to shout about.

It's dark inside, no air conditioning, very basic set up.

Food wise, we had pizza which was alright and the tauk was decent.

“Superb food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 January 2013

If your in the area check out this place it just fantastic food at a reasonable price and has a decent selection of beers. The owner (sorry forgot your name!!) is a really nice guy who will chat all night if you want, and there is also a good group of locals that frequent the place, which is always a good sign in my eyes.
So get down there and check out the chefs talent.

“Go for the beer.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 January 2013

Not sure why I decided to try the pizza, but it wasn't very good. The pepperoni tasted like slices of sausage and the mushrooms were canned. The beer and juice drinks are great, though. It's a good place to sit and people watch for not too much money. The patio area is really nice as there are plenty of plants to surround you from the street traffic.

“80% bar 20% eating place”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 November 2012

People expecting to find one of the best restaurants in Kuching (according to TripAdvisor) will likely be disappointed here. This is basically a small bar, with a limited food menu (not surprising given the tiny kitchen) In no real sense is it a restaurant. Its not the first place to stretch the definition of restaurant, and won't be the last, but a more accurate description would simply be a bar that serves bar food.

As for the food, what we had was pretty mediocre. A pizza with so little cheese you'd think they had run out and fish that was not really fresh tasting. MSG appeared to be used at an alarmingly high level, again not a good sign when natural flavours should suffice.

On the plus side, the staff were polite enough, and it has a few tables to dine outside. I'd go back again, possibly, but only for a drink - as i think it could have quite a good atmosphere, as its in the backpackers part of town (it was empty when we visited) Oh, and i 'might' consider the pizza again, if they bothered to put an acceptable amount of cheese on it.

So overall, cant really think how this place has reached the lofty heights of no3 on TA. It does have several 'one time' reviews, so maybe that's a clue, just a thought...

“A comfy place to hang out but not much else”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 October 2012

It's a small place (5 tables and some bar stools) with a hip/interesting laid back atmosphere.
The menu of drinks and foods is pretty limited.
Prices are low though.
