Sarawak River Cruise
Reviewed 2 July 2014

Sarawak River Cruise is one of tourist attraction in Kuching. If you missed the ride that means you tour is not complete at all. I really enjoy the live commentary, really clear and interesting for me and i think other passenger also feel the same. Like us for tourist RM60 is quite cheaper and value for money, i can take few photo during sunset times, really nice view from the cruise. With 4 pieces layer cakes and orange drink this make me satisfied already before i have another seafood dinner treat at night. Worth for money!!!

Well as some of the reviewer said, you get to see the same thing by walking along the riverfront.
But if this is your first time, then i would say to try it. It is really nice and relaxing. Their orange cordials and cakes are free flowing. I helped myself to several servings of the cake and drinks.

But RM60 is abit steep if the ride is just in one circle along the river. They had a small cultural show on board the ship but then the show was more of a half-hearted dance by the performance. I saw better performance when I was in the Sarawak Cultural Village.

I would suggest that they revise the price or serve more then just the oranges and cakes. I was hoping to find for a dine-in cruise but then there was no reply or response when I sent them email and facebook messages

The next time, I think I will pay for the smaller river boats as it seems more interesting.

Relaxing and lovely way to spend your evening cruising on the Sarawak River. The cruise takes 1 1/2 hours and starts sharp at 5:30 pm. So don't be late. Once on board, you will be given 2 pcs of layer cakes and freeflow of orange cordial. Other light snacks are for sale at the Captain's Bar. There is a commentary during the cruise but no live cultural performance as promised (only on the TV).

Beautiful views along the way from river boats and high rise buildings to big mansions on hillocks. We also managed to catch the sunset during the cruise.

Recommended, if you manage to get at least the 50% discount tickets otherwise it is on an expensive side.

Picked up tickets prior to leaving Australia, through Groupon. WINNER...saved 50RM a double. Importantly...DO NOT BE LATE...you will end up with crappy seats. Getting there early, meant a table for two, on the side...perfect for a gentle cruise up and down Sungai Sarawak. Plenty of great photo opportunites along the 2 hour trip. A small tribal show as part of the tour, on the return leg. Refreshments / food are basic...but, trip returned early enough to allow time to sample some of Kuchings Food spots. Worth the money...

This is a lovely way to spend 1 1/2 hours, taking in the different views of life taking place along the Sarawak River. From the little houses to the mansions downstream, the high rise hotels and apartments in the city and then finish with a most beautiful sunset to come back along the boardwalk in Kuching. As soon as you embark you are given orange juice and layer cake, or you can buy other light snacks, plus on the way back you are treated to a cultural show. Maybe newer table and chairs would be good, but still a great experience.
