These guys were great. Friendly and enthusiastic. The views from the river are beautiful and lunch was fantastic. You can get by in flip flops, but if you have sport sandals or don't mind your running shoes getting wet, wear them.

My partner and I had a brilliant day with the three lovely young fellows who took us on a beautiful kayak tour and caving. It's perfectly organised and our guides were young, dynamic and had hilarious stories to share.

Anyone who is feeling adventurous go with this company! Ask questions, have fun and enjoy the stunning scenery and spook yourselves a bit in the caves. The guys are cool and won't baby you but are professional. They will be equally enthusiastic of the tour so just chill out and have a great time.

I arranged an orangutan and kayaking tour with Semadang Kayak through the office of Paradeso Borneo. The tour was well organized and although I was a lone traveller, the guides and a family travelling along were very friendly. It is really beautiful out there on the river. About 11K with 2-3 stops: one at a miniature waterfall, another at their local village for lunch and a tour, and the third for swimming. Is quite strenuous though- so one needs to plan accordingly. The tour guides were very friendly and engaged us in conversation. It is a family owned company and we were treated to a home-cooked traditional meal. They were kind enough to arrange a vegetarian meal for me, if requested in advance. Food was delicious. The tour around the village was excellent too. So many varieties of plants. It is also quite sunny along the river- so carry plenty of sunblock cream. But the ride is beautiful and serene. They arrange pick-up and drop to the hotel. It is a full day trip from 8 am to 5 pm.

Our day kayaking on the Semadang River was exceptional. We were thinking of cancelling because it was raining steadily in downtown Kuching; but the youngsters were keen so we persevered, and are so glad that we did. We were picked up from our city hotel and by the time we reached the start point up in the hills the weather had cleared. The scenery along the trip was excellent, including soaring mountains in the distance and limestone overhangs along some of the river bends. It was easy paddling, and at one stage we stopped and tried body rafting (floating downstream in our life jackets). Brothers Mackenzie and MacQuin and their father and friends were so friendly, patient and enthusiastic we felt very much cared for. The lunch stop was outstanding, an unexpected highlight with delicious local food (plenty of it) including bbq chicken and some very tasty local vegetable dishes with wild rice. After eating we had a tour of their kampung (village) which was enlightening. Finally we reached the end spot, Mackenzie and McQuin's grandmother's house alongside the river in another kampung, had a cold drink, received a CD of memories and were taken back to our hotel (some of us nodding off on the way). Thank you, Family Doring, for a wonderful experience. We'll be back for the caving.

My daytrip include kayaking and caving that involved climbing up the a stone-laid slope and arrived at a huge chamber that connected to the other side of the hill. The trip was very well organized, McQueen and McKenzie were very nice guys, professional and knowledgable, this trip is highly recommended;-)
