We (my girlfriend and me) stayed there in August 2014 for 4 days. The room (nr. 1) was quite small but very good equipped with little shelves to store your things. The bes was great, everything was very clean. The only downside: The Windows of this room are just above a noisy street and we kind of felt like sleeping on a highway (even trough the whole night people would make their motorbikes scream or trucks would Pass the street). The aircon in the room is rather noisy as well, so nothing for people with a easy sleep or a craving for silence (the rooms at the back of the place are probably pretty quiet). Apart from that, travellers homestay was the nicest place we stayed in ( we travelled australia and indonesia 1 month each before) and still one of the cheapest (60 RM a night for Double room with aircon). The facilities are shared for the whole place (two shower/toilet combined) but surprisingly spotless clean for the number of people using them. The common room with complimentary water, coffee, tea, biscuits, and fresh fruits(!) was very comfy and clean. There was a laptop you could use for free. The hospitality and care of the host (moi) was exceptional. She helped us with everything like planing our time in kuching, findig the bus station to bako NP, getting Taxis and so on. (She speaks very good english, no communication Problems there :)). The included breakfeast (toast, jam, peanut Butter, eggs, coffee) turned out to be rather dull for me (I'm vegan, so its my own "fault" :)) so Moi gave us some treats (sweet dumplings) of her cafe, wich is situated in the ground floor of the place. She just made sure that we felt at home and comfortable, in which she greatly suceeded. In a nutshell: nothing to complain about except the noisyness in room 1. If you get better noise isolating Windows, I'd go for 5 of 5 :)

Travellers Homestay really earns the name homestay, because you are in a very familiar and warm atmosphere there. The rooms have a very good equipment (e.g. air conditioning) and everything is very clean. All rooms including bathroom and living room are modern and lovely decorated. Moi,the homestay owner, gave us allways usefull tips and answered so many questions we had. The daily newspaper as well as drinks and fresh fruits are already included. Downstairs is a nice restaurant, where you can have a delicious dinner or buy drinks and cookies.

The Traveller guesthouse is a very nice place to stay!
The rooms are air-conditioned, with free wifi, and nicely decorated. The place is very clean. Access to the city and waterfront is around 10 minutes walk, passing nearby several colored shops. Moi, the person in charge of the homestay, is a very helpful and professional person that can provide many tips to look in and around Kuching city.
Bonus: do not miss the delicious Laksa downstair! A delicious soup with flavored ingredients.

Room Tip: We had #3 and it was very silent.

The rooms are clean and quite confortable with a good ratio confort/price. The breakfast is à good time to test local food. The owner, Moi, is very nice and helpful. She gave us a lot of advices to visit Kuching and its area in the best conditions.
The guesthouse is well placed within the city.

My husband and I spent 2 nights at the Traveller's Homestay. The owner, Moi, was very friendly and helpful. I loved talking to her and learning about the history of the family, their shop and their home above the shop. Although the rooms are simple, they are clean and comfortable. Staying here you can get a real feel for the history and culture of the local people that you don't get staying in a large hotel. The location is within walking distance of the city center and the river walk. Definitely a great value and experience!

Room Tip: Our room was on the front of the building and there was a fair amount of traffic at night. We put i...

Rooms are small and basic, not much larger than the bed. They are air conditioned. Bathrooms are shared with a showers in each of 2 toilet stalls. Breakfasts were good and served in the restaurants downstairs. The bed was comfortable. There is a computer available for use, the I noticed the anti virus is not kept up to date, so don't use it for secure transactions. Moi and Victor, the proprietors were helpful. The location is reasonably good, on the edge of Kuching Chinatown. Moi and Victor speak Hukienese and good English (and I suspect also mandarin). I saw Moi rescue an older Australian couple whose baggage did not arrive on their plane by going to the Kuching airport alone to retrieve their luggage. There is water and tea available. We were told that 90% of clients were from western countries. The restaurant downstairs had large vintage photographs Of Marilyn Monroe and other famous American actors, and played popular 60's to 80's music. It is popular with the locals, given it's vintage atmosphere I suspect. We paid roughly $18 US a night. Hey, hard to beat, that is assuming it can be beat. Definitely for the budget traveller. Don't expect to live like a king here. But for the value, hard to beat, assuming it is beatable.

We stayed over at Moi's homestay and it was great!! Good local breakfast and we chose to diner also at her restaurant, you can enjoy good local food for a small price!
The rooms are clean and good, also the bathroom is good with warm water.
The location of the homestay is very central. Moi and her Brother Victor are willing to help you very much, they give you advice about what to do in and around kuching and they also help You planning your bustrip and taxi.
Don't forget to make our nature puzzle we left in the common room (to heavy to carry)...
