“A room for budget vacation”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 January 2014 via mobile

We stay at the room/dorm for 2 days, it's nice room stay for budget vacation. Besides, it's near to china town and mall. Also waterfront. Maybe I would suggest make a room for prayer for muslim. Thank you for your services. :)

I loved kuching and my 6 nights in Batu Bata were perfect. The guesthouse is spotlessly clean and it was nice and quiet...the location is almost unbeatable along the charming Carpenter St,only 2 minutes walk to the waterfront and the bus station for easy transport to Bako, Bau, Kubah early in the morning...and the best sarawak laksa 10 metres from the front door in a little hawker centre.I stayed in a room at the front with a lovely big window looking out into Chinatown.I am a light sleeper but didn't find it too noisy at all.Air con was faultless, bed was super comfortable and the rooftop garden was a great place to relax...the guy who looked after the place,Noh,was so friendly and made me feel at home...ask him about the awesome rock-climbing and other adventures to be done around Bau,beautiful countryside of Sarawak...i would love to go back!

The staff are friendly but not intrusive. They make me feel at ease when I hang around in the common area chatting with me at times.
The bathrooms are really clean and it would be good if sanitary bin can be placed within the toilets.

Decent place for someone who is on a budget! Cheap and I must say very comfortable. Best part is the hospitality. Oh and five star for the rooftop view. This place has the best place to go star gazing!

I would stay here again. The dorms were very cozy and heated up at night when there were more than 2 of us. The wifi is great quality. The breakfast is simple, butter jam and bread, but the staff offered cake. The huge plus is that the place was clean and the staff very friendly, in like two other places I experienced in Kutching. It's close to the museums, mall, water front, bus stations, little India, and hawkers stalls. So I would say it is ideal. A nice patio and terrace as well.

Room Tip: The dorms were very warm at night. If you don't do well with heat, get an air conditioned room.

i found out that it was "Mr. D bed and breakfast" . Located in the china town this place is quite small. I really love the staffs, they're very friendly and helpful. The toilet and shower is good and it also has quite nice corner and decoration. The only minus part is the fact that the room has no ventilation and way too small. The air circulation isn't really good and it's quite hot at night.

We enjoyed our stay at Batu Bata guest house. We originally booked a room with window, but due to other guests extending their stay for a month, this was not available. This was solved by offering us a very good discount on one of the rooms without window. And we din't miss the window as we spent most of our time outside at the waterfront, which is very close by or at one of the great restaurants or malls that are all within walking distance. The staff has been very friendly and helpful, breakfast in do it yourself style available all day was nice and convenient.
I can recommend this place and would like to stay here again next time.
