“You can't really visit it”
Reviewed 31 March 2013

It's beautiful viewed from across the water or from a boat, but it's closed to the public. This was something that none of the locals or people at our hostel seemed aware of, and my friend and I spent quite a bit of time trying to visit it!

“Astana Kuching”
Reviewed 20 March 2013

this landmark has been around since the begining of the Brunei Sultanate. the property used to be the home of 1st Governor of Sarawak, Pengiran Indera Makhota Muhammad Salleh. He lost his power and influences and the house he lived in had a new occupant. His name was James Brooke. this house was burnt down during the chinese rebellion in 1857. the structure you see know was rebuilt by Rajah Charles Johnson Brooke for his bride, Margerita. The story goes it's haunted!

“Not really an attraction...”
Reviewed 11 December 2012

It's a building over the water which you cannot enter... Very pointless, there's and million and one better and more interesting things to do in Kuching. This is not an attraction...
