The Chinese museum is on the waterfront near the Main Bazaar. It is small but packed with info, photos and realia. My eyes usually glaze over after reading the first few displays in a museum but this one had such a range of stuff that I didn't feel that way. I certainly learnt more about the Chinese and of course their role in the area. My son is 11 and didn't moan once about being bored. There were videos showing different aspects (eg calligraphy being done) and a collection of musical instruments complete with interactive panel with info and sounds. Go and have a look - it's in a handy position and you will learn something I bet! The website says the museum is closed on Fridays.

A very informative and well presented exhibition. We learnt quite a lot from the displays and it gave us a good understanding of the culture and background to the Chinese in Sarawak.

A small but insightful museum situated along the river. It gives you a better understanding of the Chinese community in Sarawak. And take a few minutes to walk around it and you come to realize what it was previously. If you have Chinese surname, try to find your surname on the board.

Good place to visit if you have an interest in the Chinese culture and migration or just like history. It is interesting how many different Chinese communities would arrive at the same place, settle down and keep their tradition alive. The museum is rich with information and artifacts. Like with all other museums in Kuching, the admission is free.
