This is a lovely resort where we stayed for 2 nights at the end of a wildlife tour of Borneo. It did the trick for us, somewhere to rest a little, swim in the excellent (but not deep enough) pool, and easy to visit the Sarawak Cultural village.
However, we were well out of season, with few people resident apart from our tour group of 14. This had the advantage that there were sufficient pool side loungers (these would be really scarce if the resort was half full!) but the bars were unopened or empty. The restaurant served a reasonably nice meal but was expensive for Malaysia (beer was 16myr plus taxes and service!) and they did provide excellently cooked potato chips (english use - not crisps!) instead of steamed rice at no additional cost.
Breakfast was very Asian, there was less "European" type food than at any other place we stayed at (all of which would have been at least one star less than this resort) and considering about half of the residents were European this seemed very poor - just some Muesli would have been helpful. And, as others have mentioned, this was also the only place where communicating in English was difficult; the receptionist didn't appear to have the simplest knowledge using vocabularly related to the hotels amenities!
The room was large, the bed luxurious, and all worked fine with a powerful shower. Sitting on the balcony in the early evening was lovely.

We stayed for 2D 1N, a short weekend getaway. Check-in counters a bit busy. The cafe/restaurants on the sea view side. Foods were okay and big portion especially for ala-carte. Swimming pool for kids are awesome and my daughter like it very much. Beach just a walking distance with very nice and breathtaking views of Mount Santubong on the opposite side.
Our room a bit far from the lobby and others facilities except for adults swimming pool. Room was okay with well-functioned air-conditioning system even it was a centralized air-cond system. But the condition a bit old and I'm hoping for the refurbishment @ renovation. Toilet quite ok for me without bath tub.
If you looking for other place to go around here, Cultural Village is nearby. Damai Central also neraby. It is a place equipped with 24-hours convenient shop, food court with variety of foods, seafood restaurant, bar, spa etc.

Room Tip: Rooms on the sea view facing the kids swimming pool and nearby the bar and restaurants. Rooms on th...

I stayed at this hotel for 2D 1N. The check-in was fast. The room not as I expected. The room is quite old. The mosquito feasted that night. The air cond not functioning well. The place has so much potential as it is located at a strategic location. This hotel needs facelift. The lobby is full with bird's poo and it gives a not nice surrounding. The food is very average. The parking box is charged RM50 for a 24hours! I don't mind to pay for a 5-star rates like most hotels in Kuching town but this place the price is not affordable as the service and the certain area looked old and really needs refurbishment. I hope the management will do something for the good sake of this hotel.

Room Tip: Pick the sea view.

We stayed at the hotel during the Chinese New Year 2014.

Most of the staff had problem communicating in English except Malay language. Probably due to the change in education system in Malaysia emphasizing in Malay language rather than English.

We realized upon checking in that our booking was not inclusive of breakfast. The check in staff said is more expensive booking through travel agent who earned the commission. If travel agents heard about it, I wonder which travel agents would want to promote this hotel.

The hotel management simply invalided our room key after our first day of stay and expected us to walk all the way to reception for the change of room as the wing we stayed had low occupancy rate. We were not informed earlier until we asked for help from cleaner.

The first room we stayed was too cold and the second day the room was too warm. Air condition controllers were seemed to be not functioning well despite getting help from technician.

The hotel and rooms were ill maintained.

Activities were not communicating to room guests. We realized missing some activities until we checked out but too late for turning back.

Good luck to those who book into this hotel.

Room Tip: Check the room air conditioning and facilities.

Stayed here a couple of times with my family & friends. Personally I prefer rooms that are facing the sea because the rooms are colder. Rooms near the rainforest are quite hot, as if the air conds are not working. I woke up a few times at night, sweating. Did not open the sliding door because of the mosquitoes. Only a few staff are quite helpful & friendly. The food are average. It's better to eat at seafood restaurants nearby.

We went to this hotel in order to enjoy the beach, but the weather did not allowed it, so we had to enjoy the hotel, but it had nothing to offer.
It seems it was a really nice resort many years ago, but now everything is bad, not well maintained and not clean.
Lobby is dirty, rooms are old, dirty and you smell the mold in every place, from the surroundings to the pillows.
Poor bar with only 2 choices of a machine coffee, breakfast really poor and of bad quality. Also if you need any extra soap, pillow, etc they will charge you for everything.

We did not try the restaurants, as the signs from the breakfast drove us to the small shopping center next to the hotel, where we ate at a seafood restaurant available there, which was really good and cheap.

Summarising the hotel is in a really good position, with great view at the ocean, but if it won't be renovated it does not worth it to go there.
