“variety, cheap & yummy...”
Reviewed 18 June 2013

This is a stretch running in the middle of commercial SS2 square that houses many stalls selling various Malaysian cuisine. They all do not open at the same time as some cater for breakfast, lunch and majority dinner. It is also repetitious in terms of what they sell but each have their own style and taste so customers would usually stick to their favourites.

Best place to dine to experience how locals eat. Its affordable, tasty, casual and has almost all famous dishes under one roof. Do not expect typical restaurant atmosphere as it is open air and maintained by the city council.

Recommendations would be to try the asam laksa, char kuey tiow, chicken rice, lin chee kang, chee cheong fun, pork satay, nasi lemak and ice kacang or ABC as it is more fondly known. Can't go wrong for a good meal here.

“Affordable Malaysian food”
Reviewed 3 May 2013

This place has a huge selection of local food. Saw many people lining up for the Chinese style nasi lemak and gave it a try. Good taste with plenty of sides to choose from, good homemade food. I don't recommend the ice kacang though as there are better ones elsewhere. Lin chee kang is a better choice to cool down from the stuffy atmosphere.

Reviewed 13 February 2013

this popular food court has been around for more than 20 years...
the must try there are the Ice kacang and Cendol for dessert..
fried kuey teow and lobak are also deliciously served hot..
visitors may also be able to purchase the DVDs from the regular seller in the food court.

“It is partially opened for business today...”
Reviewed 12 February 2013

Tried our luck and went to SS2 Wai Sek Kai for dinner this evening, surprising to see that several stalls are opened for business. One thing to note is some stall charged a premium for operating on Chinese New Year.

We ordered the Penang Kway Tiao and Dong Fen costing total RM11 and quite a god eat.
We ordered the Hokkien Mee just opposite the Penang stall, the plate of Hokkien mee is almost twice the original cost and it doesn't taste good. It looks more like a Yakiudon than a Hokkien mee.
We ordered the Yong Tao Fu but it never come after about 30mins so we left without eating it.

Overall, the place is a good spot for nice hawker food during normal days.
