Stayed this hotel during Hari Raya time. The room was well maintained, but the aircond was not cold enough and the ceiling fan is too high where you can't feel the wind while on the bed. Besides that, the bicycle is not enough as some others guest will just take off your bicycle when you went into room to take some stuff. Have to prepare more bicycle with well maintain cause some bicycle you can't even ride. Other than that, I quite like the in-room designs and the shampoo(ginger flavor) provided was amazing!

About an hour drive from the airport- the Resort arranges a pick up and drop off service- we arrive at this beautiful property in the Straits of Malacca, by the Andaman Sea. In fact the whole resort built in the shape of a giant palm tree, juts out into the sea. The Resort offices where you check in as you arrive, is the base of the Palm tree. Its main trunk is the elevated road that stretches almost a kilometer to where the eight fronds of the palm tree begin. Each frond is also an elevated path on stilts, lined with cottages. All cottages are built on stilts, right in the sea, each with a sea view. If you stay in east facing cottages, you have the sunrise, while the west facing cottages have the sunset view.

We were on a family reunion, and had booked 2 cottages; a two bedroom cottage and a three bedroom cottage. Each cottage was well furnished and cleaned daily. The beds were comfortable, and the toilets clean. I noticed a slight problem of maintenance. Both the flat screen TV sets in one of the two cottages would hang, and the maintenance had to be called. Also, the air conditioning unit in one of cottages was not cooling sufficiently, and the maintenance had to be called in. But the maintenance was prompt, and arrived fast to look into the problem. The bath towels and hand towels have seen a fair amount of usage, and the Resort should replace the used stock with new bath towels.

Except for the electric kettle and the tea & coffee service, the cottages did not have any cooking facility. As a result, at times we ran short of plates and crockery, but anything we needed was always a phone call away. The mini fridge was enough to store snacks that we could order from a small store run by the Resort.

The Resort has several hotels. Its main eating area is around a pool located at the point where the eight fronds of the palm tree meet the trunk. The restaurant serves a buffet breakfast and a buffet dinner. There is usually live entertainment there at dinnertime. There is a very good Chinese restaurant, Hai Sang Lou, on the first floor, next to a Spa, just one floor above the breakfast space. We liked their food so much that we wound up eating dinner there 3 nights out of our 7 nights stay. The other restaurant we liked was the Sepoi-Sepoi, located near the entrance of the Resort. It served popular Malaysian food.

The resort has access to an extensive beach and provides for various water activities. These are supervised, and even when we paddled kayaks, we were told to keep within an area well marked by buoys. The Resort encourages its guests to use bicycles that are liberally available. You just pick one up and cycle off to wherever it is that you wish to go inside the Resort, and leave it anywhere. The cycles are not exactly in great condition, but they are functional, and they get you around. For those guests who do not wish to use cycles and don't want to walk, there is a buggy service. These motorised carts can be called from the reception to take you to the restaurants or the Spa, or Gym, or beach.

The Resort is affiliated to RCI, and can also be directly booked. Although there is nothing close by where one can go for food, the Resort's restaurants are not expensive.

For a large family vacation it was an ideal place.

Room Tip: Take the east facing cottages if you like the sunrise, or the west facing ones if you want sunsets.

Avani Palm resort is one of the coolest and best resorts with proactive, friendly and help staff. Had an amazing time at the resort with a beautiful view of the open waters.
I was on my honeymoon for 4 days at the resort and I had my booking at the superior villa. These villas are mainly on the stem and some on the sides. Its preferable to request for the upper deck villas as these are king size beds and the lower villas mostly have twin beds. Both the villas have an amazing deck which overlooks the sea (the left side villas have a better view).
The staff are very hospitable, friendly and make you feel comfortable.

Good food specially at Hai Sang Lou which is the Chinese restaurant. Would suggest to try the peking duck, its delicious. Bila Bila has good afternoon buffet services and one of the most friendly staff was "Pooja Das" an internee at the resort. She was helpful proactive and helped us with some basic information on places around the resort. Sepoi-Sepoi is a must try for Malaysian food and the manager is very helpful and accommodating. Providing good service is his priority. However disappointed with Perahu the sea-food restaurant. Services are good but the quality is really bad. We were served uncooked food and on reporting there was not much reaction or actions to rectify it. Selat Bar has a great ambience specially during the sunset. You could either have a game of pool or sing along with the karaoke. Buloh bar has an good bar tender with a decent set of selected personalised cocktails (some customised based on your mood).

Room service is very prompt, but most of the items mentioned in the menu/list for room service is not available post 11pm. However the pleasant nature of the people overrides that.

Disappointed with the Leisure and travel services though. We had requested for an excursion to the Sepang F1 track for two people a day before in the evening, and we were told due to security reasons special permissions are required and we would be notified next day if the trip can be arranged. However, after several communications we were informed that the track was closed and the trip cannot be arranged due to security reasons at around noon. When I called the F1 circuit customer care post that directly they said we could simply visit the track and we could take the circuit tour. Although the resort charges an average of RM50-100 more than what it might cost if one does the booking for the circuit tour individually, proper information or services are being neglected to the guests.

Good clean rooms, amazing ambience, beautiful scenic beauty (specially sunset view from the pool or the reception area), great food, and its worth the money you pay for the resort.

Taxi services are a bit expensive from the resort, so always prefer or ask for blue cabs. It will cost you more than the normal rates, but its cheaper than the resort limousine services.

Room Tip: If booking is for Superior villa, opt or request for the villas on the trunk, first floor and the le...

My husband & I spent a very relaxing 7 nights at Avani Sepang Resort last week. We purchased the Deal which included pick up from Airport, Spa Vouchers, breakfasts & 4 Meals.
Upon arrival at K.L. airport, our Chauffer was waiting for us & we had a comfortable ride to the Resort. Check-in went smoothly & our package/vouchers were explained to us. Our Canary Overwater Villa was really nice. The BED was the most comfortable hubby & I have ever slept in. The Air-Con & Fans kept the room nice & comfortable & the cleaning staff came in every day ensuring our room was replenished of towels, bed made & fresh bottles of water given.
Throughout the resort, we could not fault the Service & friendliness shown to us by ALL staff members. We took the advice of previous guests ( read on Trip Advisor) & made access of the free shuttle into the nearby town to purchase our own Alcohol & snacks as the Resort prices were expensive.
I would like to see a better system put in place re the use of bicycles. It is a long walk from most Villas to the front restaurants & every time we grabbed bicycles to use, we'd turn around & someone else had taken them. Maybe if guests were given their own dedicated bicycles to use for their entire stay would be much better.
Our only negative comment would be the food. There was a good variety of both Asian & Western food in the mornings for breakfast but apart from a delicious meal at the Chinese Restaurant, HAI SANG LOU and a reasonable meal at Sepoi Sepoi, the other places were NOT enjoyable.
A big gold star to Avani SPA! My hubby & I enjoyed a hand full of treatments & I had recently hurt my neck & shoulders at work. AZLIN concentrated on my problem areas & after two rigourous massages, I came home with very little discomfort & a very happy lady. Thanks heaps, Azlin. I can now move my head & shoulders with next to no pain!
We took the free shuttle into K. L. twice. It took 1 1/2 hrs on our forward journey but 2 hrs. return due to the heavy traffic around K.L. Our bus driver was always courteous & a very good driver.
All in all, we enjoyed our stay & we would score it an 8/10.

Room Tip: Our Villa was No. 217. We were very happy with the location. Close enough to the Pool, Spa & the...

I booked this 7 night holiday on Luxury Escapes as the laid back holiday after a full on Cambodia trip. The resort is great, staff are friendly and welcoming. Nothing is too hard. The resort is situated 40 minutes from KL airport and 2 hours to Kuala Lumpur by the resort courtesy coach. We did a day trip to Malacca with a private driver/guide, great day full of history. Our accommodation was amazing, 2 bedroom plus study with balcony over the water. The main bedroom boasted a 4 poster bed with canopy..... Ensuite with sunken bath and separate shower, there was a 2nd bathroom also. Plenty of options for food, 2 bars, spa for pampering.......amazing place to get away from it all. Thank you to the great staff that made our stay Swikriti, Dewakar, Mr Wan, Pooja Sampada and the fabulous barman Daniel.

Monday 25/8/14

Just got back to Melbourne after another wonderful holiday in Malaysia. We stayed in KL for two nights at Fraser Place - see separate review - and then at Avani Sepang for 7 nights.

This is our second visit to this fabulous resort and we were as thrilled and happy this year as last.

What makes this place so good is the fantastic, welcoming, happy and customer focused staff. Sure there will always be some that are less effusive but the standard of customer care is excellent.

From the moment we re-booked we were managed efficiently and with great enthusiasm by Amir Golbarg, Executive Manager as well as Ana Azura Sarudin.

On arrival we were warmly greeted with big hugs by the very lovely Tulaasi Ac who looked after us so well the previous year. We were soon also reunited with Rahmat, Amir and Qamarul and felt very glad to be amongst these genuine, friendly and attentive friends so made us feel so incredibly special.

Rahmat surprised us with a fabulous upgrade to an Ivory
Villa and our booking for dinner at Perahu to celebrate our wedding anniversary was already made.

Special people we also want to mention are the wonderful creative people who decorated our Villa for our wedding anniversary .... Twice!!! It was so beautiful, romantic and special. We think our Butler Zaid had something to do with that !!!

The lovely housekeeping staff looked after our room well, supplying 4-6 bottles if commentary water daily which is excellent.

There are some talented and creative folk too and special thanks for the daily creations made with towels, face cloths and Rose petals including elephants (my favourite), turtles, pig, crabs, tiny birds and swans ... All so lovely and a shame to dismantle so they all went into the spare bedroom!!!

The food at Perahu for our romantic anniversary dinner was exceptional and chef Henry has an eye for detail as well as excellent culinary skills. The staff including Hildaray (sorry if that is incorrect spelling) and the other attentive folk made our night so beautiful including a stunning chocolate cake❤️

The other special mentions go to:

Awin and Sal at Avani Spa who gave us several fantastic massages and a body scrub on our last day that left us feeling invigorated!!

Soon Chen and the lovely guy whose name escapes us who looked after us so well for the amazing Chinese banquet and dinner. Note - the Peking Duck is amazing but make sure you don't over order like we did ha ha!!!

The beef Rendang at Bila Bila buffet is delicious

Sampana and Warday from Sepoi Sepoi where we enjoyed fantastic pizza yesterday!!

And last but by no means least special mention again to Tulaasi Ac who is a wonderful hostess in the lounge bar and also took us to Port Dixon and to meet her beautiful family. We regard her as a very special friend

The tour to Melacca was amazing and Ahmad was brilliant! Knowledgeable and informative with a lovely manner.

Highly recommend Avani - we can't wait to return.

Kind regards Janice & Derek xxx

This is an excellent hotel to spend a weekend or any couple of days away from the city. I had a very enjoyable stay. I booked the 2 bed room villa as we are a family of 2 parents and 3 kids. Our villa very clean and very neatly furnished. Privacy is guaranteed as each villa has its own view to the ocean. Sitting in the balcony and watching the sea during night or during sunset or sunrise is a dream.
There are different activities nearby including some sport games for the kids. The hotel has a leisure department who arrange many activities for the kids. Games like paintball, small car racing, cycling, 4 wheel motorbike riding, sailing, and many others for families are offered in low prices or free. A swimming pool looking over the ocean is another beautiful activity.
Service is very nice. Staff are very kind and helpful. Electric cars are offered for inside hotel transportation for free. Cycles too.
Many restaurants with good food are available with reasonable prices. I tried the Stimbot and Brahu both were good food. Brahu offers a local show which is big fun for the kids. Breakfast in the main restaurant was rich and good.
Transportation from the airport is easy using the Taxi service in the airport. Booking the same service in retun is also offered with very reasonable rates.
You should not stay at this hotel if you have to go to the city center. The hotel is located far away from the city center. Stay here only if you want to be away from all the city noise.

Room Tip: I finished everything in the hotel in two days. Staying more may be boring.
