The hotel maintains a check-in desk in the airport terminal and whisks guests with a buggy to the hotel lobby, otherwise a five-minute walk via an elevated sky walk away. The lobby easily elicits a "wow" in its vast splendor.Pleasant live music is offered evenings in the lobby bar.
Our club level room on the 9Th floor was recently updated and everything looked as if we were the first to occupy the spotless room. The large, high ceilinged, carpeted room was equipped with the latest hi-Hi-Tech touch screen modules to operate lights, etc., somewhat a challenge to operate at times. Windows with electrically operated blinds and curtains looked out at the airport tower and beyond. Absolutely no airplanes nor internal noises were heard day or night, and the king bed was a dream, making for sound sleeping. The bathroom with a tub and a large glass enclosed walk-in shower, sparkling in its newness was well lit, stocked with fluffy, soft towels, robes and slippers
The club in the early evening serves the usual spread of food items plus soft drinks, beer and wine but no hard liquor. Breakfast spread is sufficient to get the motor started, plus a short order cook stands by to make omelets, etc. The outside pool area with chaises and shade umbrellas is nicely situated, surrounded with tropical foliage. The in-house restaurant/coffee shop offers a nightly buffet and a-la-carte as well.
This hotel is well placed and convenient for a one day exploration of downtown Kuala Lumpur and its sights of interest to the tourist. The KLA Express train for 35 Ringit runs from the station in the terminal in 28 minutes to the central railway station in the city center. In front of the station is a stop of the Hop-On-Hop-Off bus, a good option to see the major sights in Kuala Lumpur with time left for a train ride out to the Batu Caves Temples. To get to Batu Caves find the KTM Commuter Terminal within the main train station and take the Sentul Line to Batu Cave station. Station is front entrance to Cave site. Business travelers with early flights may also find this hotel a better choice than to stay in town.
For us the Sama Sama Hotel proved to be an excellent choice for a brief two night return visit to Kuala Lumpur after some years. We would certainly stay here again at some future visit.
