Disapointing from the website. Old smelly rooms, small pool, no free airport shuttle.
The staff are friendly and helpful. The price is reasonable but everything is old and smelly.
There is a very good chinese restaurant accross the street on the corner but chck out the price carefully before you order.

Hotel located in a soulless suburb/area, 20 mins from airport. Some staff make an effort but this is not a professionally run establishment in anyone's language.

The porter kindly finished his conversation while we unloaded and carried heavy bags into the hotel. He then proceeded to watch us start to load our own bags onto the trolley, which he brought to us.

Coffee shop waiter had fresh food stains and splatters down the front if his jacket. You need to pay cash for meals (no charging to your room). Good luck trying to pay with your credit card. Super expensive.

The pool is 1.2m at the deepest spot, is surrounded by concrete, and feels like an isolated industrial wasteland. The rooms are perfectly fine, with clean bathrooms and soft pillows. Although, don't try to open your window as ours appeared to be unhinged. It is a long way down!

If you are looking for a bed and a shower between flights, book in. If you want anything else AT ALL, don't touch it.

I stayed in this hotel because it economical.Check in was quick, the staff were friendly, and the lobby area is nice, with free internet access on a computer. The rooms are on the small size, and fixtures are a bit worn, and the beds were OK.The shower was was fine. The roof top pool is small but clean. The view from the roof of the surrounding sepang area is great. It is in a suburban area, and very quiet, Rooms had fridges in them, TV works fine even though its old, although only a few English channels. Breakfast was fine, with the usual Asian dishes, cereals, toast, eggs and fruit juice. For the money, I was very satisfied with the Empress, and might stay here again for a transit stop overnight.

Even you it was near airport area around this hotel is not very appealing or anything exciting to do. Dinner was also a white wash. Hotel pretty old didn't even have a plug had to pull put one to charge iPad. Would not go there again

Room Tip: Would eat elsewhere before coming to this hotel

I was travelling in a family group of 7, with 2 young children from Aust to Kota Kinabalu, and didn't want to continue our flight after a long trip from Melbourne. The Empress fit the bill nicely for an overnight stay. The price is very good value for money, which allowed us to have 4 rooms. It is about 15-20 min from the LCCT, and a mini bus cost 100 MYR from the taxi coupon counter. Check in was very quick, the staff were friendly, and the lobby area is nice, with free internet access on a computer. The rooms are on the small size, and fixtures are a bit worn, but everything was clean, and the beds were pretty comfortable. The shower was hot and the water pressure was fine. The roof top pool is small but clean, and my 2 boys (10/7 yo) loved the swim. The view from the roof of the surrounding sepang area is great.

It is in a suburban area, and very quiet, but there is still enough shops and eating options to cater for everyone. There is a KFC around the corner on the main street, which catered for my fussy 7 yo. Also a 7/11 store if you need drinks/snacks. Cross the road from the hotel foyer, turn left, and on the corner is Restoran Roi Roi. It might not look like much, but was packed with locals which I always take as a good sign. We decided to eat here, and were not disappointed. Its only tables with plastic chairs, but the menu is extensive, the food great and the beer is cold. The peppered beef was excellent. Its pretty cheap too, 6 mains, fried rice and quite a few beers cost 170 MYR.

Rooms now have fridges in them, TV works fine, although only a few english channels. Breakfast was fine, with the usual asian dishes, cereals, toast, pasteries, eggs and fruit juice. Reception organised us a mini van to return to the LCCT the next morning, and it cost the same as the airport coupon price. We all had a pretty good sleep, the morning call to prayers might give you a 5 am wake up call, but only lasted about 5 min.

For the money, I was very satisfied with the Empress, and would certainly stay hear again for a transit stop overnight.

We stayed at this hotel over two years ago and have since found another nicer airport hotel to stay at regularly. However we were placed in this hotel overnight by Malaysia Airlines because of a cancelled flight. the only positive I can find with the hotel is its nice little roof top pool and the wifi connection was reasonable. The restaurant food was pretty average. The staff are reasonable but are certainly not over the top with friendliness. The room was somewhat of a disaster. Very musty smelling, very dark, very old furniture and the bathroom, especially around the toilet was putrid. Air conditioning is centrally controlled so no adjusting for your own comfort. Amenities were very basic. Towels were very worn, but clean so not a drama. Bed linen was spotless, and the beds were new (I checked). Their are better options near the airport for the same money. I wouldn't stay here by choice.

We (French-Swedish family with two children 3 and 6 years old) needed a hotel just for one night when in transit in KL and found this hotel which seemed not too bad but it was very disappointing. The room, however, was fairly big but very old and dirty. The staff at the reception though were very nice and helpful. They did not provide a airport transfer and it was extremely expensive. The breakfast was not too bad, not a lot of choices though.
