Absolutely wonderful resort. We stayed in a water villa (well worth the extra) as it gives privacy on your balcony (steps direct onto the house reef) and has fantastic views. Room and bathroom were spotless, refreshed twice daily. Loungers on the balcony with beach towels changed daily, as well as dedicated loungers on the beach near the villa. Peaceful, relaxed, wonderful snorkelling. We swam with turtles, sting rays, saw moray eels, small sharks, so many large tropical fish it was like swimming in an aquarium. Totally loved it.
Food buffet in the evening was excellent (we were half board), breakfast also good. Staff OK but could have been friendlier and more attentive. On arrival our villa wasn't ready and we were made to hang around for 2 hours, which we were really annoyed about and were not even offered a free drink in the bar. But after that the rest of the stay was magical and we can't wait to go back.
Good value for money (for the Maldives). Sea plane transfer was fun and an added bonus.
Would recommend highly. Did one organised snorkelling trip to the coral garden - friendly dive staff, especially Shafi. Thank you! Next time we will learn to dive.

If there is 1 thing on your bucket list it has to be staying here. 260 staff and 260 guests on the island. We stayed for 10 nights but would have stayed for 20 if we could. Snorkelling we saw an octopus, a turtle, baby sharks and numerous different fish, even a 'nemo'

Most people go barefoot throughout never wearing even flipflops.

6 every night they feed the stingrays from the beach which us really interesting and entertaining.

The only negative was the evening entertainment in the bar which could be improved so we would socialise in the bar as all the other guests were friendly without being too invasive

Room Tip: Water bungalow on stilts!

Booked in the UK via Travelbag
Flights with Etihad

Resort Transfer

Via TransMaldivian which drops you off on a small pontoon a short Dhoni ride from the island.

Reception:

Check in was easy, the usual form filling and then we were escorted to our room by a member of the guest relations staff. There were a couple of occasions where we went to reception to request a couple of things, they were OK in the main however we felt we needed to follow up to ensure that our request had been actioned. The Guest Relations staff share the same desk and were very efficient when dealing with enquiries.

Accommodation:

We had requested via email a detached standard villa as we were keen for privacy, we didn’t get this instead we got a much better deal in our eyes. We were allocated room 231 which is actually located slightly inland from the beach. With more floor space than a standard villa and more privacy, we were more than satisfied with this arrangement. This did mean however that our sunbeds were clustered at the northern tip of the island along with the Water Bungalows sunbeds. We went to see Guest Relations who suggested we could relocate them to just outside of room 101 which is at the far south of the island. OK, so a short walk was required but we were more than happy to have the large sand spit at the south of the island as our beach.

Island Surrounds

The western side is the most popular as this is where most of the accommodation is located. The sea is calm and the snorkeling access is easy. The North West side of the island has suffered fairly severe erosion exposing the islands sandbag defenses. A small collection of workers constantly battle away to protect the islands edges, this is when of course a small minority of them are not standing idle, smoking, chatting on mobiles and staring at female guests. This was a little uncomfortable to be honest but rare as they spend most of their time out of view. The inland part of the island has been kept very true to nature, leaves are allowed to fall and plant growth is encouraged. Paths are swept constantly and we loved wandering around the interweaving paths. Back to the sea defences, there are some large artificial sandbags located on the southern edges which on first impression might not look too attractive but as they are keeping the sea at bay you get used to them and their abundant sealife which has made this their home.

Staff

Bar staff are excellent at both their duties and their interaction with guests. Always looking out to top up your glass they really do make you feel that you are the only people that matter. Waiters go about their task in the same manner as the bar staff.
As I have previously stated, Guest Relations are professional and are clearly trained well. On one occasion we had to raise a matter with the island management who were wholly professional in their approach and it was easy to see why this individual held this position. We felt our matter was dealt with successfully and professionally.

Food

Breakfast didn’t really do it for me I’m afraid. If you enjoy fruit and pastries for breakfast then you wont be disappointed however I prefer a cooked breakfast and what was on offer didn’t really satisfy my requirements. Eggs are cooked to order and you ask for these on being seated, why not have a chef manning an egg station? This way you don’t have to wait around wondering how long your egg order may take. Times varied from 5 minutes to 15 minutes and on one occasion my eggs never made it out of the kitchen.
Lunch and Dinner however were on a different level. Outstanding choice of salads and main dishes with a theme change daily. The scales back home confirmed that I had indeed enjoyed the food on offer.

Summary

Reethi is a good value choice and I put it in the same league as Kuredu and Meeru. All these islands have the pros and cons and you have to weigh up which works for you. Good luck in choosing as it’s a hard choice but worth it in the end.

Do the behind the scenes tour if you get change, it amazing how the island gets its power and water!

Room Tip: 231 is more of a garden villa but a good choice if you want privacy

We had a lovely break at Reethi. Everything we had read or heard about the island was true. We were not disappointed. We had a Reethi Villa which was lovely but wasnt on the best side of the island however we didnt move our sunbeds ( they will move them to where ever on the island you want them, they are all numbered as the same as your room so no one can pinch them in the mornings) as that side of the island had a lovely breeze and we were near everything, bar, restaurant, diving school, stingray feeding and on that part of the beach we managed to receive wifi. I snorkelled and swam in the lovely warm sea. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We went on speedboat in search of dolphins and wasnt disappointed...we saw hundreds. On the island we saw fruit bats, lizards, a stork getting his breakfast early morning from the shoreline, stingrays being fed (you got to see it to believe it) and hermit crabs. I did the technical tour on how the island runs. You have a guided tour on the inside and they even take you in the kitchens. It is well worth the time to do that as it's amazing on what is behind the scenes. We walked around the island most mornings to get a bit of exercise...took about 25 mins then took the the beach to read and chill. We did the sunset tour which was ok bit dont expect anything fancy...you go on a boat for 8mins to as deserted island, have a beer, look around and wait for the sun to set then return. The food was fabulous and had no complaints about what was offered. The afternoon tea was nice too. I would recommend this island and although it is a seaplane ride from Male it is well worth it. That in itself is an experience. We were sad to come home after a wonderful break.

Excellent staff. Excellent amenities. Excellent Food and the cook.
Had a good spa.
We took the rooms which went straight into the sea.
We stayed for 5 days and I think these 5 days were perfect. Enough to do.
Do go for the robinson cruso or for the photography session.
The corals were dead due to some wind storm 2 - 3 yrs back... but even those that were there are amazing

There was one snorkelling trip that we took and it was amazing.

met a couple who was on their 17th visit!

There were enough restaurants to chose from.

I would suggest people to not go all inclusive (unless u drink). The food can be chosen from a variety of restaurants.

We have just returned from Reethi Beach for the fourth time. We were on B&B and ate in the Moodha Bar, Grill and Pool Bar the food and the service were incredible as usual. All the staff are really wonderful they are the islands' greatest asset. The island is beautiful like heaven on earth.
We are returning next year for four weeks again
