The island is like a small paradise.
The villas are perfect with all amenities, big, clear, right infront of the stunning beach and in privacy. It has the most beautiful beach I've ever seen!
The food is of very good quality.
It is the perfect place to relax or make activities like snorkeling and diving or just swim....
The service provided is perfect and generaly you don't hane to worry for anything.
The only think you need to take with you is your swimwear, everything else is provided by the hotel...
It's bit far from Male and the sea plane is expensive but it is really worthy.
The only thing I didn't enjoy much was the weather, that it is more rainy on November.

We went back to Angsana Velavaru for another five days this month, less than one year since we were there in December 2012, and it was again another amazing experience. We have stayed at many resorts in the Maldives, but the standards of service and the small personal touches are simply exceptional at Angsana Velavaru. We stayed in an IOV (In-Ocean Villa), and the quality of snorkelling on the reef just outside our door was amazing, with plenty of fish and a really carefully maintained reef. A truly relaxing five days, and we had great fun on the cooking class and the cocktail class, and the meals in Azurro restaurant were all perfect. We might go back a third time if we go to the Maldives again, as we value quality and comfort and this resort delivers on all our needs.

From the moment you step off the seaplane and onto the boat to take you to your villa you think you are dreaming! We had the in ocean villa which is separate to the island, the villas are situated on the other side of the coral reef so you just walk down your own private jetty and step in the ocean and off to go. Its easy to snorkel to the house reef and see the wonderful marine life
I probably spent hours in the water just floating around as the ocean was so warm and pristine, the rooms are comfortable with great viewing over the ocean
Food in the restaurants was very nice with lots of variety and the wine selection was great, we had paid the full board supplement
To top off this amazing holiday, the staff were very friendly and eager to assist to make your holiday a wonderful memory
There were lots of families there so this resort caters for honeymooners, families and couples wanting a lovely holiday. I would definitely recommend 4 - 5 days as you only just start to relax and enjoy your island life and its time to go back to your normal life wherever that is!
You won't be disappointed

Room Tip: we enjoyed the in ocean villa as a treat

We spent three days at the Angsana Velavaru and the only words that come to mind are pure relaxation. The overall impression of the place was great from the start as the place is very picturesque, but you would expect that from the Maldives. The staff were very pleasant from the get go, but we were really delighted when we saw our beach hut, which was splendid. A big bedroom, a nice patio 20 meters from the beach and then a beautiful private pool in the back. The first thing we did was go snorkeling and get a bit of sunburn (don't underestimate the strength of the sun, I would suggest snorkeling with a t-shirt on at all times) and then head off for lunch, which we had in the little bar/restaurant which was nice. The food selection in this restaurant was varied and was very good quality, but like everything else on the island quite pricey. A bit more swimming during a downpour and then dinner at the buffet (which was OK, but nothing special). This pretty much describes all three days we spent there with some other activities thrown into the mix.

The important points to mention is that there were a lot of activities organized and we would definitely recommend the snorkel safari even though the reef we went to was nice, but the Lonely Planet good was correct in saying that it wasn't the best dive spot around. Another activity we would recommend is the island life tour which shows you how Maldivians live, well worth the trip. There were numerous other activities available, including diving, beach volleyball, beach football, lots of water sports, feeding sting rays etc. but we didn't have the time or inclination to try these.

The one highlight of the whole trip for me was the massage at the spa, which was expensive (US$ 130 per person for 60 minute massage and 30 minutes relaxation) but worth it. The massage was truly spectacular and I felt as relaxed as I had ever been after it.

Overall the Angsana Velavaru was excellent, but definitely make sure you have a good budget and I would say limit your stay to 5-7 days, anything more and things could get a little boring.

Room Tip: Beach villas offer better access to activities and to the beach and are cheaper than the over sea vi...

This is the best place to stay in Maldives. The private villas with their unbelievable view at the see will make every second here special. The atmosphere created here is a dream come true, and even if it’s not cheap it will worth every single penny. Our room was wonderful and the private heated pool was a charm. The staff was the best thing I could have experienced. Language (clearly understandable English), competence and kindness were on the highest standard made the stay memorable.

This resort is isolated but offers all you need. Meals are expensive so best to take fully inclusive package as facilities in room are only sufficient for morning coffee or tea.

Spa is booked out so you need to book before you arrive.

Room Tip: Ask for a room near the water most beach villas are at least 100m from the sea although they refer t...
