We stayed for two weeks in mid august, it is their winter season so excpect windy conditions the average temp was about 24 degrees, the hotel is small and located right on the beach one side is protected by the wind wich was good, we where greeted on arrival by ajay very charming and professional, our room was a beach veiw and was spacious with balcony the shower room was spacious as well, minibar, tea and coffee was available, breakfast was vey good, wide variety of cold or hot, lunch time was from a menu with a wide variety pizza to curry's, burgers ect, as the hotel
was not full we had to choose from a menu at dinner time rather than a buffet only down side was you had only a choise of two for each course but if you did not like anything on the menu they would try and accommodate, the staff were.first class always willing to help from kieran and his bar staff to visch and the restaurant staff,if you want to venture out book a taxi from the hotel, we walk to the nearest village wich took about 25 minutes but the nearest town would need a taxi £16 return. We would recommend to go allinclusive

We are a French - Hungarian couple living in the neighboring Reunion Island and we visited the La Palmeraie Hotel for a long weekend in August -the first time off with familyqq since our little daughter was born...
Well as you might know, traveling with a baby at low age is never easy but the staff did everything to make our stay as pleasant as possible.
The hotel site is magnificent. If you are looking for a place that is in the middle of the nighltife (bars, discotheques, night clubs and stuff) it is clearly not the place to go. But if you wish to spend a few days in a nice boutique hotel on the side of a crystal clear lagoon (according to some people, the nicest beach in Mauritius is at Belle Mare) with excellent service, it is clearly the place to stay. We opted for the All Inclusive board and did not regret it. Breakfast is great, even for my strange Hungarian taste (like to eat salty things which is a little bit difficult if you live in France ) so the pancake/omelette stand was really a good surprise for me such as the big choice of fresh fruits. Concerning the dinner, the cook is great : he made me choose the fish plate every day even though I basicly do not really like it :) but it was delicious! Desserts also...
We have also tried the relaxing massage at the spa such as the excursion on the catamaran boat to Ile aux cerfs Jason proposed to us. A must!!!
Rooms are spacious and clean (we had one overlooking the pool, and it was important to us not to be noisy because of the baby- and it was not, even when there was live music every night at the bar/restaurant. The balcony door closes properly :) )
There are also many sports facilities (bottom-glass boat, snorkeling, kayak, etc. ) free of charge (included in the price). Unfortunately the weather was not always nice (but no surprise, it is winter so normal - still better than a week before in the Reunion Island) but no regrets ;)
Really nice weekend and if I could, I would definitely stay longer next time!!! but maybe at summer this time... Keep on doing the good job guys and thank you for everything! Seb, Anna and Lily ;)

It is a small hotel but at the same time, very personal, somehow intimate and cosy. The beds are super comfy, loved the little hotel room balcony. Food was good, though not impressed by the desserts in the menu. The swimming pool is of an average size and the beach is right in front of the hotel. Had a very nice stay!

We stayed at the La Palmeraie for our 25th Wedding anniversary and we were so happy with the choice as the location is paradise with having a room over looking the sea on the beach front. The staff provide excellent service even to the extent where waiter Michael will come onto the beach where we relaxed on the loungers provided asking if we would like anything to drink.
The waiter Vish at breakfast was very friendly having a conversation with us asking how we were and was always willing to take great pride making sure everything was ok with our stay.
Our room was always clean with nice touch from cleaner/maid making a swan from a towel displayed on the bed along with flower petals.
There was live music at night with the resident band playing a wide variety of songs. As the hotel was quiet,June is low season the three piece band would come up to the table where we we having drinks to sing a song to us,which was a lovely touch and so friendly.
La Palmeraie is well worth a visit and recommend anyone wanting a relaxed stay with excellent service to pick this hotel.

Room Tip: Pay extra for a room overlooking the beach.

My lady Jane and I stayed in the hotel between 21 May and 31 May 2014. From the moment we alighted from the taxi at the front door of the hotel we felt welcomed by the warmth of all the hotel staff. I unfortunately suffered an accident in a local supermarket on the second day of our holiday which saw me hospitalised for a short while with a couple of broken ribs, and all the hotel staff with thier genuine caring nature did all they could to help Jane as I was moved around between hospitals on the island, by providing outstanding support and assistance to her, and to me on my return to the hotel. Nothing was too much trouble, whether it was from the chef providing specific meals for us, the housekeeping team who met the requirements for an enhanced supported sleeping requirement for me and moved us around rooms in the hotel, or the admin team of Jason and Sharon who were one step ahead of us as we tried to deal with the accident that had befallen me, and its ramifications. I was even visited in the hospital by Jason.
The hotel was not full when we stayed, but we still felt that they were prepared for any eventuality, nothing seemed to disturb the calm and serenity. Our rooms overlooked the beach and were just what we expected them to be - what we saw in the brochure was what we got, together with a sense of caring and kindness that we have never experienced anywhere else in the world. We will be back to this hotel in the future.
We booked with Virgin, and the rep, Anne was also very much involved in supporting Jane and I during our stay - my accident happened on her first day in the job. She personified the sincerity of the people of Mauritius. Thankyou so much for all of your help and support

Room Tip: Overlook the ocean, only 20m away outside the room.

Sooo much to write.. Stayed in La Palmeraie for 7 days.. returned 21st may. Do read because this information will save you 1 day in mauritius. Wish I could have stayed for more.. :) Very Warm welcome by hotel staff.. Booked beach view room and it was perfect!!! daily sunrise... sunset... fresh air... it was an unforgettable experience... The best thing i liked for this hotel is their staff... Mr. Ajay (Manager)AKA. Mr. nice, & my Fav team -Khader- (head chef) Uncle Med, Kiran, Yash and the guy in green dress whose name i always forgot... As a couple when we think about the hotel.. these people come to my mind who made us feel very very special.. greeted us very well we met everytime... Think of it.. at dinner time.. head chef comes to you.. talks to you.. makes you laugh and goes back to kitchen without going to others.. this is what i liked most!! I have been to many top class hotels.. but the people here are awesome.. Food, drinks were very good.. Being an indian couple food was no problem for me.. we ate what we wanted to...you give one hint and chef provided us yummy food everytime.. (photos attached)

Likes-
Calm, quiet place.. the way it should be for honeymooners. Ofcourse there are other hotels with 250 rooms.. but in my opinion I wouldnt want to go there since i'm on honeymoon.

Water activites!! All free!! You will love glass boat ride!! We did 2 seater Canoeing and it was aweeeseommmmeeeeee... Not enough words to say for this experience... FYI do not worry if you do not know swimming my wife didnt either.. there are 3 life guards present from 9 to 5 and man they are quick!!

Clean beach. Not much crowd. For honeymoon the way it should be.

Good Food. Loved the dessert section!!

On our daily excursion trips there were other couples also.. but none had these things to say.. so I know going to this hotel was a very good decision...

Room cleanliness- Something never seen before.. well everytime we went out.. be it dinner or on day out or lunch.. we came back and our room is cleaned and put properly.. this was new... the amount of service this hotel provided in this case was very nice. in other hotels you put a card on your door or they clean it once a day.. and I thought to myself.. wow bed and everything else is done again... for this special thanks to our personal butler- Mr. Shailesh. thank u!!

For other couple.. when we book our tickets.. generally its for 7 days 6 nights.. in that they give us 3 tours.... do not go to south tour!!! there is really not much to see!!! trust me when i say that.... All couples came to a conclusion that the best was day in Ille aux cerfs where you can do water activities.. they take 7500 mauritian money for all water activites and its amazing... no compromise here.. this is worth every single penny infact you will want it more and more!!!!

Instead of going on south tour better you stay in your hotel and just chill... swim in morning... drinks n stuff on pool chair.. just enjoy...

Room Tip: 1. Book sea view rooms on 1st floor. 2. Go only for all inclusive plans!!! 3. In my & others...

The hotel was small and personal. The staff were superb and very accomodating, nothing was too much trouble. They couldn't do enough for you. The food was excellent and there was something for everyone, good choice.
The spa was a little disappointing, many people did not use the facility as prices were quite high for what was being offered.
