We were originally booked into a hotel called Le Plantation Hotel & Spa which was horrendous. We had to insist on a move and our tour operator eventually transferred us to The Pearle Beach Hotel & Spa.

We were on holiday with some friends who were celebrating their 25th Wedding Anniversay and the management and staff here were fantastic. They certainly made up for the awful start to what should have been a dream holiday. They went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed for our celebrations. Head of house keeping was very good. Champagne & fruit were delivered to the rooms which had been decorated with floweres and complimentary wraps & t shirts were left together with a cake on the evenings of our anniversaries.

We arranged a meal on the beach for our friends, which was excellent. Food was fabulous and again table decorated beautifully, all the staff should be congratulated.

Rooms were spotless, plenty of storage space and very comfortable with lovely views.

Buffet style dining in the evenings with a la carte at lunch time. Would have been nice to have had another restaurant to choose from but food good and varied.

The whicker sun loungers around the pool could have done with padded mats as they were a little uncomfortable, the ones on the beach were better. Sandy beach was clean, footware advisable due to coral. Nice long walks along the beach and very safe. Glass bottom boat and pedalos available at no extra cost. Trips and water sports bookable at beach hut.

The standard of service from management and staff was excellent, they played a very important part in what turned out to be a very enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: Rooms on first floor have a better view

Surprised me a lot in many ways. Though it was not our honeymoon trip, we were made to feel so. Starting with a basket of fruit then a bottle of Champagne and a very well decorated room greeted us as we entered our room. We also enjoyed the cocktail party in one of the evenings, arranged by the management of the hotel for the guests. The receptionists were very helpful. One of the Hotel manager once gave us a lift to a nearby Casino, which to me was very courteous. Flic en Flac is not generally a safe area to hang around in the night specially in and around the hotel area hence the lift was helpful. There is a grocery store nearby (2 -3 mints walk) from where you can grab few consumables for your requirement. One tip: Do not put any drinks or water in the fridge for cooling which you bought from outside...the hotel might charge them on your bill. We had a room which was facing the beach (probably all the rooms are facing the beach) The sunset from our balcony was very good. swimming pool was excellent, with a jacuzzi pool. They also arrange scuba diving classes if you want in the pool itself. The beach activities were free..like snorkeling, surfing etc. Beach was nice but had lots of gravels so it was difficult to walk barefoot. If you go a bit deeper into the see these gravels would reduce a lot. Their beach is a private beach. The hotel also had dinner time functions which we enjoyed a lot during our dinners. Breakfast and dinner was nice and the spread was also good but same menu repeated almost every night which was a bit boring after few days. During the breakfast be careful about the sparrows which might start sharing your plate if you are a bit ignorant and leave your plate with food on it and go to grab something else from the buffet counters. Overall i would give it a 3+ star.

We spent two weeks here at the end of April and had a great time. The rooms were clean & tidy although a little dated and the view over the beach was great (just make sure you don't get a room in the block that overlooks the road).

Couldn't fault the restaurant & bar staff who were all very friendly and helpful. If the hotel is full the restaurant can become very busy in the evening & you may have to wait a while for a table (the most we had to wait was around 20 minutes). Some people have complained about the AI only being from 11am - 11pm but we didn't have a problem with this as you could just get some bottles of water evening & put them in the fridge in your room.

Evening entertainment was very limited (although Kenny with his acoustic guitar taking requests at your table was great) and people would generally hang around the bar or just go back to their rooms.
The beach was great and you could walk for miles if you wanted to. Sunbeds were pretty uncomfortable (seems to be the case in so many hotels) and the flies could be really annoying.

All in all a great holiday & would definitely come back to the hotel. If you come here expecting 5 star luxury you will be disappointed but as a 3.5/4 star hotel it's very good.

We stayed here last two weeks in April, overall had a nice holiday, hotel has fantastic sea views, rooms were very clean, staff were very friendly, good service. The only negative thing I would say was that the second week the food got a bit 'samey'. They have a different themed buffet every night but to be honest the food was pretty much the same night after night! We did start ordering different things from the menu which you could do if you were all inclusive, you could have certain things but other things you would need to pay for. The entertainment was ok, nothing to write home about. We met some nice people, the hotel was quite small and it was nice to talk to people at the bar, a lot of people seemed to disappear after dinner, there was only the bar area to go to, overall we enjoyed it, weather was mostly good and although it is a long flight, Air Mauritius were ok, we had no complaints about the flights at all. Definitely miss looking at the lovely sea view. If you are planning to go to Mauritius definitely go walking with the lions, an amazing experience, not cheap but well worth it, great guys at the Casela Nature Park and buy the dvd they record on the walk, great souvenir!

Its an average hotel, though few staff members are good their service is not up to the satisfactory mark. Internet facility is very poor. Breakpast, lunch and dinner is ok for vegiterians as well but its ok if it is part of package otherwise it will be very costly.

There are only 70 something rooms which makes a more friendly atmosphere with staff and guests.Staff were brilliant, happy ,couldnt do enough for you and it came across as very genuine .Nice comfortable room, most facing the sea so you canwatch the sun set!Food good with buffet lunch and dinner, the only themed food we didnt like was the re take on chineese which was dissapointing we did notice 2nd week several people opting for something from the menu also available to all inclusive that night.
Drinks wise beer ok,spirits ok,limited coctails not great ,juice ok,coffee ok,ask for black lable tea ! DO GET YOUR WATER before you go to bed because you can only get drinks after 11 o clock in the morning. This is also a problem if you arrive early as we did !
Not too much of a problem getting sunbeds although not all have parasoles they could do with being replaced as some were worn!!
We went on two trips organised by the mercury rep who seemed unorganised and not very good at explaining things. On our 2nd trip of the south of the island we were left outside a restaurant in the middle of nowhere as ano ther couple from a different hotel prepaid for a meal,we didnt know this so had a pack lunch! Luckily there was another couple from our hotel in the same position so we ate at a viewing area then went back to the restaurant with them and had a drink there whilst admiring the view and ended up having a good laugh!
Hotel entertainment wasnt that great mostly every other night between 9.30 to 11 ish. Most guests seemed to dissapear dinner ,the rest of us congregating round the bar or sitting at a few tables round the pool. You could however stay sat in the restaurant area if you wished.
All in all a great place to stay for the price not really 4 stars although they probably deserve it for the service.

overall a good holiday. restaurant and bar staff very friendly, hotel nice rooms good, we were not impressed on first arrival, after leaving home and arriving at 9 30am after a 20 hour journey,we asked for some water we were told we would have to pay for it, we asked if we could go to breakfast, only if we paid, all inclusive starts at 1pm, are argument was on our last day we had to leave at 5 45am, so we wouldn't be having breakfast or drinks that day. so where is the give and take? We traveled with Mercury Direct, the brochure said mini bar in room also half hour free massage. No both items were took out of the contract last year. Mercury direct never informed us of this.
Food was OK if you like everything tasting of curry.always look on menu in morning ,if you dont like it then you can ask for something different, that's if you don't mind waiting.Breakfast was very good

As I say hotel was nice right on the beach . Glad I went but wont be returning, I expected to get the WOW factor on Mauritius but it never came.

Room Tip: we stayed in 201 and 202 middle floor next to reception, overlooking pool and sea very nice views ,y...
