I tried booking a cheap hotel this time but for the price I paid I was definitely hoping for more ! Mind you, everything they mention on their website is not true and the beach is not 5 minutes away. I was also disappointed with the rooms which although clean needs upgrading. The air conditioning looked like those of the 80s ! Food is decent but the portions ought to be better. I happened to see a buffet for a group of people staying at the hotel and I was so sorry for them. Breakfast was a shame. Appalling. I was lucky there is a supermarket nearby. Overall, a disappointing one.

The villa is located just 5 mins walking from the beach. It's a nice structure with very nice rooms, everyone decorated in a really nice different way, we were in the "Ocean", at the first floor, all blue with fishes on the walls. Good breakfast with crépes, fruits, juices, bread with butter and jam, yogurt, coffé or tea served in a very nice garden next to the swimming pool. We had the opportunity also to have dinner there and it was delicious. The staff is very friendly and usefull. Great deal!!!

Reading the other ratings here, I really wonder why they rate so differently then me. Maybe the management did change? During my 4 weeks in Mauitius all other hotels have been better for less money or much better for little more money. Really disappointed I was by the staff, which never gave me the impression to be welcome at all. There were always some persons (it was even hard to guess they belonged to the hotel based on the attitute they showed) hanging around, playing with their laptops and iphones, but always treating you the way, as if you are disturbing them in their mood of relaxation. A mauritian friend was visiting me for one day and he almost felt ashamed by mentioning, that this behaviour is not the friendliness of Mauritians in general. Not even warm water was working in the room for a 50 Euros per night, what is not a question in other places for less then half the prize!

I made my booking in advance by use of a hostel booker platform. On my arrive they didn't have any knowledge about my booking (what was no problem, because almost no rooms had been occupied at this time). During my stay I had to explain 4 times about the conditions and prize of my booking, because they seemed to be organized in no way.

Nevertheless I want to mention:
- The rooms are decorated according to different themes. I didn't like so much like the cold blue colors of my room, but this is only my person feeling and other rooms are much more warm of colors and the decoration is done with love, no doubt.
- The location is quite good, calm and close to supermarket, beach, bus stop, which is a plus.
- Breakfast was basic (coffee/tea, juice, fruits, bread, jam) but ok, but in no way as rich as in other places of same prize.
- Pizza in the restaurant was excellent.

This is a very simple property with very simple rooms and a good restaurant on site. If you are not expecting any luxury or beach-front location (it is an easy 2 blocks away), then this place is great value. The family run operators are real friendly and wish to make your stay as pleasant as possible. I would only consider the small pool if desparate to get all wet. The morning breakfast is fine and adequate but not exciting. The a/c in our room was very good. Especially a good choice for 1 or 2 nights, anything longer might get tiring.

The Madives might have better beaches and there are hotels in mauritius with more luxurious rooms (although these are clean and functional with great ocean views) but this small hotel is exceptionally well run. The Manager takes a keen interest in her guests and ensures that all their needs are met, nothing is too much trouble. All the staff have a unique blend of friendliness and efficiency and go out of their way to make your stay special (even cooking a traditional Mauritian meal especially for us), the beach is small but the views from the beach bar and resturant are magical. The boat trip is a MUST! This isn't a fussy hotel but it is a really relaxing, warm and friendly place with some of the best staff I have met anywhere in the world.
