We've just spent a wonderful fortnight's holiday all inclusive at the Recif Attitude. This fabulous little hotel of only 70 rooms delivers an exceptional service despite catering for Bed & Breakfast, Half-Board, Full-Board and All-inclusive, a feat which is very difficult to do.
The management and staff work very hard to make this work and still deliver a truly personal service. The general manager, Raymond Duverge approached us a couple of days into our holiday to ask if there was anything about our all-inclusive package which could be improved. We were delighted when he reacted to our suggestion that a better wine could be included at dinner in the all-inclusive deal by providing . . . . . . a better wine for us!
And by the way, we agree with all the praise that Christine R. makes as I think it was she we met whilst staying there. Hi Christine! Hope the ships arrived home O.K.
Don't book this hotel if you want a huge choice with 3 or 4 restaurants, 8 bars and 2 swimming pools. It is small and beautiful.

I have just returned from a seven night stay in the Racif Attitude. The hotel is exceptional for a 3*. As a lone female guest I was concerned that the hotel was safe and friendly and I am pleased to say that this was the case. The staff were amazingly helpful and friendly. The hotel rooms are clean with towels and sheets changed regularly. The grounds are well kept with staff constantly around to assist and keep the whole place clean and tidy. The food is well prepared and plenty of it with a great choice. There are 3 restaurants, as a half board guest the evening meal was served in the main outside restaurant with a good choice. If I wanted to eat in either of the other two restaurants I would be given a supplement towards the cost. The only fault I could find was that the fish restaurant was on the beach within sight of the main tables and I don't think I would have enjoyed eating there under the eye of all the other diners. I would recommend anyone to try out the Recif Attitude for friendly staff willing to do all they can to ensure you have a wonderful holiday with good facilities and surroundings.

had a good time. we stayed 2 wks half board, breakfast same everyday, you could ask for any type of egg or omlette, evening meal was better, plenty of choice but drinks not included.we chose to pay for ours as we went along rather than a bill at the end. room was fine, cleaned every day, fresh towels. but it is a hot country and you have to expect insects. ground floor rooms were prone to cockroaches but the staff soon sorted it out. dont leave food or drinks open or you will get ants!!!!!!! telephone in the room was cheap, 20 rupees a min.beach was a bit rocky but good for snorkelling, colourful fish. all the free activities were good, water skiing and glass bottom boat only operated am. the boat house on the beach also does excursions which were cheaper than the hotel.recommend this hotel for a quiet relaxing holiday.

Room Tip: ask for 1st floor room. less bugs!!!!!!!!!

Dear Alison,

I thank you for your nice comments on your recent stay at Récif Attitude and your recommendation to other travellers. We are happy you enjoyed your Holidays in Mauritius while staying with us.

We seize this opportunity to remind to our guests that open food & drinks in the room is an excellent opportunity for ants and others, even if our Hotel undergoes regular and thorough pest control.. Mauritius being a tropical island. Also kindly note that, as from 01 November, water skiing won’t be offered any longer at Récif Attitude as part of our commitment to sustainable development (Green Attitude program).

We look forward to seeing you again at Récif Attitude.

What a fab hotel. Right on the beach with a lovely relaxed atmosphere all round. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, they really made you feel welcome, especially Kevin. Food was delicious, we stayed for 2 weeks and didn't have the same meal twice, would definitely recommend the seafood, it was so fresh. Our garden view room was quite small but had everything we needed.
Would love to go back sometime and recommend to anybody looking for a reasonable hotel right on the beach. Thanks Recif for a wonderful holiday!

The journey from the airport to the Recif Attitude takes about one to one and a half hours depending on the traffic which can be bad around Port St. Louis. The hotel is situated along the shore of a small bay - no other hotels in sight - with a sandy/coral beach and a rather rocky shore so, as others have advised, you need beach/water shoes available cheaply from Super-U, the supermarket in Grand Baie. By comparison to the three 4* and 5* resorts in the next bay the Recif is small and low-rise and not a 'resort', more a small and friendly hotel. The bar and eating areas are very pleasant, situated right on the edge of the beach but providing plenty of shade.

Our room was a beachfront standard room and it was indeed beachfront, being only steps from the beach. It was smaller than we expected with a rather inconvenient layout . The shower in one corner was good once the hot water kicked in - a wait of a few minutes. The loo in the other corner had a sliding door which tended to crash open and closed (not good in the nightime!). However it was clean and the big plus was a large outside terrace which we used as our living space. What little I saw of the other room layouts suggests that others are larger and more spacious.

The food was bland with some highlights, for instance the breakfast pancakes and omelettes, but there was plenty of it.

It is very conveniently situated with the bus stop a few minutes from the hotel. Buses run to Grand Baie, Port St. Louis and Triolet (3.5 km) from where you can get another bus to Pamplemousse Botanical Gardens. One day we walked into Triolet (nearest ATM machines) and got the bus back. There is also a small supermarket near the bus stop.

Both Raymond, the Manager, and Kevin, his Assistant, were always available always ready to help. All the staff were friendly and ready to chat.We tried the glass bottomed boat a couple of times and there were plenty of takers for the canoes, pedaloes and water skiing (all free). The snorkelling was interesting when the water cleared after some rather rough weather at the beginning of our stay.

To sum up, this is not a 5* resort and does not pretend to be. What it does provide is a more intimate and relaxing venue in a rather laid back style where we felt known as individuals rather than just two of the guests.

Dear guest,

We would like to thank you for your warm words on your recent stay at Récif Attitude.

We have noted your comments regarding the toilet door of your room and this will be attended by our maintenance team.
Our Standard rooms, although of the same size (+/- 25m2), do not have similar layout. It’s one of the singularities of our Hotel, which also makes its charm.

We are pleased you enjoyed a relaxing Holidays at Récif Attitude,

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Recif. The staff were exceptional - all extremely friendly and welcoming, the rooms clean and functional and the food really good. Breakfast and lunch had quite a lot of choice, the evenig meal slightly less choice but we found something we enjoyed every night and we were often invited to have more if we wanted. We had a first floor room which overlooked the beach and was fantastic - we could sit on our balcony and watch the sun set every evening - breathtaking!! The beach was clean although quite shingly but a pair of beach shoes sorts out this issue. The sea was a quite rocky but perfectly suitable for swimming, and snorkling is excellent. Take a walk along the beach and look in the rock pools when the tide is out and they are full of fish of various sorts - a great way to spend a few hours. Our trip took in the last 2 weeks of August, which is the Mauritius winter but for us it was perfect - much quieter than it would be in their summer months but the weather was still good (what a good English summer should be like!!!). We had fantastic holiday and would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a small, friendly hotel.

If you are looking for a very good value hotel, this is the one. Service impecable, very warm mauritian hospitality, friendly staff. Hotel itself is a very good 3 stars, right in front of a nice sandy beach (some rocks/corals in the water though, therefore aqua shoes are needed). General Manager is a very friendly person, he will come to say hello at some point during your stay which makes the whole difference, and a great personalized service experience.
This property offers BB, half board, or all inclusive. We took the all inclusive option, which was a great choice, meals are very good, different every day and if you decide to rent a car to go on a day excursion, they will prepare a nice picnic box for you.
Rooms, are very spacious, some with garden views, other sea view. The ones in the back might have some noise coming from the street behind the property. The infinity pool is nice, different from the typical sky-blue color, this one has a darker color that matches the color of the sea in front of it, specialy at sunset! (sunset is right in front of the property!)
There is a spa, however we didn't use it, but looks like a nice quiet place with a couple of massage rooms, in the back of the property. There is also a kids club. Looks cool for the little ones!
There is wifi, but you need to purchase one 15 days pass (about 5 euros) to be able to use the internet in the bar area only, not signal in the rooms or beach.

My top three selling points of this property are:
1. Service / staff
2. Cleanliness of the whole property
3. Loibster dinner on the beach (a must do during the stay, an amazing experience, every dime spent is worth it!)

I would definitely come back to Recif Attitude, a big thank you to all the staff who made our stay at the Recif one of the best ever! Trust me on this one, you can book this resort with your eyes closed, you will not be disapointed.
Safe travels everyone!
