“Le Victoria - Feels like home!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 March 2014 via mobile

We stayed at Le Victoria for 19 days february/march 2014. Le Victoria is a perfekt hotel! The staff is so kind, They always smiles and have a nice thing to say to you. It's easy to like the staff. The hotelrooms are very big and comfortable! Lots of space for our family of five! Beautiful view from the terrasses! The cleaners did a great job cleaning the rooms. Funny to come back to your room finding different "towelanimals" on the sofa! Thank you Hyder and friends! Fantastic beach and delicious food and drinks at the 3 restaurants. It's good variation of food in the bufet. The "boatpeople" down at the beach were also very friendly and took us to a lots of exiting tours!

We were at Le Victoria for our wedding! Le Victoria is a perfect weddingdestination! Perfect for us and our 39 guests! We had our wedding down at the beachpavillion 1. March Dinner at La Casa. The hotel staff made our day unforgettable. Specially our weddingcoordinator Devina:-) She had fully control and did a huge an enormous good job with all the planning! Nice to be relaxed before our wedding! She also followed us before and during the hole wedding. It was nice to know that she took care of everything and everyone! The makeup/hairdresser lady was also very clever and the sivil officer was so kind!
The weddingphotographer delivered our photos to days after the wedding! And he made a beautiful album for us!

If you are planning a wedding at Le Victoria .......then you know the day will be perfect!

Many of our weddingguests stayed at the hotel. Everyone enjoyed Le Victoria. The hotel is perfect for the grandparents as well as the smallest children!

The only thing we missed were an ATM!

The only things that is not so good with LeVictoria:
We have to comeback because we miss the hotel, the staff (specially Devina), the weather, the nature, the food and the feeling of beeing home when you are far from home! And its expensive to travel from Norway!

We stayed at Le Victoria as a family of four with children aged 4 and 6. This is a truly superb hotel and we could not find fault with any aspect. The grounds are fantastic, every one of the staff could not be more friendly or accommodating and the room was one of the largest we have stayed in as a family room. The kids loved the pool which when we went (Feb 2014) was at a constant 26 degC. It was cleaned every morning and was always crystal clear from 8am. The food was amazing, probably the best we have had from this type of hotel, with a choice of three restaurants there is plenty as the main buffet restaurant is absolutely excellent and there is really no need to go to the other two apart from these being waiter service which was a nice variation for us. Particular mention of the water sports staff that again could not help enough with water skiing in our case. We have done the equivalent Caribbean resorts and this hotel is by far so much more superior. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: We opted for a ground floor with Children and they enjoyed walking in directly from the gardens oppo...

My wife and I enjoyed 10 nights at this hotel and have nothing but praise, particularly for the wonderful, helpful, friendly, and attentive staff that really made a great holiday that much better. Our room(269) was on the right hand side with a distant sea view, but as the gardens were so well kept, the palm trees and birds made up for that. Everything was aimed at us having a great holiday, I wasn't even allowed to top up our wine glasses from the bottle, and a great holiday we had. The beach was always clean, with plenty of sun beds available, and water sports available, some free of charge. We had a couple of trips in the pedalo boat, and enjoyed a speedboat trip to see dolphins in the bay which was very reasonable for us both. Entertainment was very good with music and dancing plentiful, but you can sit and watch if you want to. The outing to Isle de Deux Cocos, an island just off the coast near the airport was magnificent, the coral and fish seen from the glass bottom boat were just so wonderful, and the service from all the attentive staff, the plentiful food and drink, and the atmosphere made it extremely enjoyable.
All inclusive is definitely the best option, with the food in the two additional restaurants being of a slightly higher standard than the buffet restaurant, but as we both enjoyed the food, over indulgence is the danger. Most drinks were included, but there were some exceptions, so beware.
All things considered, it was a very enjoyable holiday, with much more to see, but we went to relax and spent much of our time on the beach, with Sanjay doing an excellent job of looking after us there. Thank you Le Victoria and all your staff, several of whom have been with the hotel for many years, we could understand that.

Room Tip: We had a second floor room,269, which was quite large, with a distant sea view, apparently families...

We stay at the Victoria each time we visit Mauritius - about 10 times over the last twenty years. The hotel is still perfect. You often think, that the quality goes down after a few years but since the inauguration in 1994 it has kept the standards high.

Staff is incredibly friendly and always helpful. We love this place!

Stayed with my wife at Le Victoria from 18 Feb to 22 Feb on a brief business trip to Mauritius. The choice was made because of the proximity to Port Louis, after having reviewed the neighbouring hotel's reviews (Le Victoria appeared to rate far better), and the offer by Beachcomber for guest celebrating their anniversary's. We had our 20th anniversary, and managed to steal a day off between meetings.
Overall Le Victoria is a good hotel and worthy of its ratings and generally excellent reviews. We have stayed at several Beachcomber hotels, incl. the Shandrani, Dinorobin, and the Paradis. For a 4*+ it ranks well with the others for the money one pays. It excellent value for money.
The hotel does seem to cater to families with toddlers and young kids, but by no way is it bothersome. The pool seems to see quite a lot of the kids, but on the beach and in the sea you have few children. The beach is wonderful, the sea calm and swimable.
The rooms are large and comfortable, and the service staff efficient. We always found our rooms tidy and well cleaned. Don't expect a 5* room of a recently built hotel, but expect clean, tidy, and well maintained accommodation that is pleasant to stay in.
The food at the hotel was surprisingly good, and we could not fault it. Having been used to the other 5* hotels we expected lesser, but we had no complaints. The hotel had an Indian menu one evening which one immediately becomes slightly skeptical of as a westerner. However it was excellent with many choices and lovely dishes.
One must definitely try the fish specialty restaurant, its food is amazing. We traveled on an all inclusive, and at this restaurant where we chose the set menu which forms part of the all inclusive package, the meal was outstanding. Its really a delight and beautifully presented.
Same can be said for the Italian restaurant. It was the only time we ate a la carte, and it was stunning. One was still able to choose from the fixed menu items, and combine them with an a la carte order.
Staff is amazing. Waiters are quick to replenish your coffee or drinks at the bar, or take an order. Its so typical of the general Mauritian hospitality industry, who is there to make your time spent in Mauritius memorable. We've been to Mauritius 7 o 8 times, and always we find the Mauritian people and hotel staff friendly, a point of note that one does not find in all countries.
Go - you will not be disappointed. Good on Le Victoria.

What a fantastic experience we had with our wedding/honeymoon at Le Victoria (booked through Dream Weddings). We went with our 12 year old daughter and 3 year old son and booked two adjoining superior rooms. When we arrived at the hotel the check in experience was very welcoming with a personal touch: we were served ice cold cocktails and hot lemon scented flannels to freshen up after the long journey. Some of the staff have worked at the hotel for 15/20 years plus which says a lot about how they must enjoy their job, be it porter, waiter or barman. We were delighted with our rooms (381 & 382). It was about a 3/4 minute walk to reception but well worth the quiet location and beautiful view of the sea (we were on the top floor). On our second day we met with our wedding coordinator, Davina, to finalise the details of our wedding. She was very professional as we decided on menus and flowers etc. Davina made this a stress free experience. I opted for a tropical bouquet with a matching arch for the "kiosk". The kiosk was a beautiful setting for our ceremony (on the beach in a beach hut type gazebo) and we opted to have our evening meal there too. Flowers for the table were included and the chairs (for our children and 2 guests) were decorated with red ribbon to match my flowers which was a lovely touch (I had not even thought about this). We also had a music duo which I would recommend for adding to the atmosphere. I did not want to have high expectations for my make up and hair in case I was disappointed but the lady booked through the hotel was fantastic, clearly very experienced and on the day turned up with another lady to help. My advice is to take a picture with you as she was brilliant at recreating styles from the pictures we brought with us. We were also very pleased with our wedding photographer and videographer, booked through the hotel. Both were very professional and Ibrahim gave us two copes of the photos on disk (280 photos in all) and a wedding album made up by him. We must give a special mention to Stephanie who served us our wedding dinner on the beach. She was very attentive. Overall our wedding was fantastic. Now for the honeymoon/holiday. Book All Inclusive as its well worth it. The dinners at Le Victoria were varied with different themed nights: Mauritian, International, Indian, Italian, Chinese. The quality of the wine included in the all inclusive is also good as we ordered Kumala every night with our meal (about £7 a bottle in Sainsburys). For breakfast there was a vast choice also from croissants, pastries and pancakes through to fruits and an exceptional egg station. Bear in mind that tea served in Mauritius is usually vanilla tea (which I love anyway) but if you want normal tea like my husband did, ask for "natural tea". Staff were always jovial and gave an exceptional service. Nothing was ever too much trouble and their interest in you having a good holiday was genuine and sincere. Krishi in the bar continually impressed our three year old with his fancy milkshakes. The bar service by the pool and the beach was fantastic and the endless snacks and cakes available at the bar were also impressive. The entertainment was varied throughout our stay. We particularly enjoyed the sega show which started on the beach with torchlight. The atmosphere was great and the show continued in the entertainment area later in the evening. Our towels were changed a few times a day and if you had forgotten to return beach towels on beach, you could leave them in your room to be collected along with your room towels. We would love to go back and just need to save up to enjoy it all again. Highly recommended by us.

Room Tip: Higher floor is quieter. Room 381/382 are adjoining superior rooms. Very quiet (with a 3/4 mins wa...
