we had a fantastic time horseriding the stallions along the beach and through the dunes!
Experience is mandatory!
But if you have been on a horse back before, do not hesitate but, go ahead and enjoy a couple of hours on horseback on these beautiful horses!!!
It was a superb experience!

Ranch Diabat is a fantastic place. The horses and camels are beautiful and very well cared for. We went camel riding twice for two hours each time and our guide was helpful and informative. his english put us to shame!!! He took some wonderful photos which we will treasure, walking through the ocean and trotting along the beach were special highlights. I returned on my own for an hours horse riding and I can honestly say this was the highlight of my whole holiday, I was kitted out with boots and, i explained that I had not ridden for many years, matched to a wonderful Arab stallion....galloping along the shoreline was an experience I will never forget. Thankyou Ranch Diabat and your lovely staff...we will return when we visit Essaouira again in April

A great family experience that we would definitely recommend. Very tranquil on the camels with beautiful scenery - we had one day into the hills and a second along the beach dunes. We came back to tasty tagines and a campfire at night beneath the stars. The bedhouin tent was comfortable for the 5 of us.
Mustafa was an excellent guide - we had complete confidence in his management of the camels as well as being all round good guy and great character. Very good english - even able to tell us Moroccan jokes!
Mustafa and the guys at the ranch went out of their way to help us with our onward journey.

We spent a week on a horse-riding holiday in Morocco with a few days then in Essaouira and Marrakesh.
We started our ride in Essaouira and finished near Agadir having traversed some 200km or more of beaches and mountains. Mohammed, our guide, was excellent. He spoke excellent english and was extremetly informative about the country, people and culture. He even arranged a hammam for us on one of the evenings
The ride we did was mainly slow, though not for the beginner or nervous rider (thought they do cater for every ability level). Our ride was more about where we were riding than how we were doing it. That said, we did have a few nice gallops over the course of the week on very willing and forward going horses. Speaking of the horses, all the ridden horses are stallions, but well trained and if you weren't told, you wouldn't know the difference based on temperament etc.
The landscapes were fantastic and very varied. We were unfortunate in that we got a few unseasonal days of rain, but there's not accounting for that.
The management and staff at the ranch were genuinely friendly, extremely welcoming and accomodating. We stayed in Essaouira for a day after our scheduled week with Ranch de Diabat and on our last evening at the Ranch, Mohammed was kind enough to take us into the city and show us around so we could make the most of the remainder of our stay. He also organised for the Ranch driver to drive us in and out of the city (no charge) during our extended stay.
I would have no hesitation in recommending the Ranch de Diabat as a riding destination. Contact Erika at the ranch to discuss your requirements - I did and she was extremely helpful and patient through countless emails and recommended Riads for us to stay when we visited Essaouira and Marrakesh and also advising on many other aspects relative to our stay.
Whether you're in Essaouira for a few days and have any interest in horse riding, or if you're lookng for a trail ride in Morocco, I'd definitely recommend Ranch de Diabat.
Thanks again and good wishes to everyone at the Ranch.
