Travel there for short week holiday with my family in summer 2013. Before I know Essaouira from 2010 one-day trip and willing to spend there more time. Essaouira known in the past as Timbuktu is charming place but maximum one weak holidays there are recommended, as is quite small place and after week you would know each square and path. Its well knows as best place for windsurfing in Maroco. Hotel was new and with nice design but low quality service and very average food. I got not only a filling that they did not care, but also hard proofs of this low service. I’m not speaking French so immediately got lower attendance and no service n hotel restaurant as staffs hardly speaks English. The secret is that Royal Atlas is a chain belonging to King of Morocco Family and work there is very secured for all employers. If you got problems the staff will not help you. There is famous expression in Nord Africa, you got watch they have time. And in this place is truth. However Morocco is beautiful place and worth visiting.
I have been there twice and will come back but to another hotel chain or riad.

This hotel is classified as 5 stars and perhaps in the UK it would only receive 4, but the staff are fantastic and it is extremely relaxing. Even at the height of the summer it is tranquil. I know a sea view is wonderful but I stayed in a ground floor flat overlooking the pool. Unlike the sea view rooms you have somewhere to sit out in the evening and relax. It is a good 15 minute walk to the Medina but you get used to-and taxis are readily available-it did seem like cheating. The service at the pool bar can be a little bit slow but the friendly and obliging staff more than make up for it. The rooms are lovely-modern and clean lines.

Nice hotel, great cuisine and good services. Situated just by the ocean and roughly 15 min by walk to medina (taxi cost approx 5 dirhams one way to medina). Weather here in may is very windy so there is almost impossible to use hotel pool because wind is taking off not just the towels but chairs also:)

Room Tip: If you take cheaper grand floor room there is french window just to courtyard - not bad

Nicely appointed hotel, stayed in deluxe seaview room which was a really decent well presented room. Negatives were service, which was generally lacking, especially bar & food service from the pool bar which was very poor, and the evening piano bar which we had to leave as the air was disgustingly thick with cigar and cigarette smoke. Besides that it was a nice walk into the town and a refreshing respite from Marrakech !

Excellent hotel for family vacation. I spent here 7 nights and enjoyed view to ocean. Hotel well decorated and clean. Parking is comfortable. Good choice of Moroccan wines in restaurant. Seafood cuisine also was very nice.

We loved Essaouria (so much nicer than Marrakech). This hotel was a large well equipped 'euro hotel' in that it could have been anywhere and so could potentially be accused of being impersonal. Apart from that it was spotlessly clean, well decorated, the room was large, comfortable with a nice bathroom. It had a beach view and was a suite with air con, a couch area, wifi, satellite TV (no useful channels however if you are English). So as an accommodation base it was great. We spent every day and evening out in the town and enjoyed the mile or so walk from the hotel and round the medina. Some things not clear from the travel agent. 1) The hotel is on a busy road so traffic continues into late evening (windows are double glazed but that then means using the air con). 2) This is a windy place affected by the strong warm North East trade winds so although this is great for kite surfing etc, it makes the beach little use for much else as there is constant sand drifting at low level. That said the medina has a host of great restaurants and cafes and lots of tourist shops. The harbour, fish market and old fortifications make for great photo opportunities. Breakfast was a typical large hotel offering and we enjoyed eating it in the inner courtyard rather than the rather warm and large hotel typical dining room. All in all we could recommend this hotel and Essaouria as a destination.

Room Tip: If you want to sleep with open windows, then avoid the beach view suites as there is a lot of traffi...

Having spent days driving around Morocco this was a welcome and relaxing hotel .rooms good size but still look bigger in the photos ,just far enough down the beach for an evening stroll into the walled town .modern and stylish and the spa is amazing .i must recommend the fish market ,fresh fish and shellfish cooked over charcoal ,just missing a nice Chablis .

Room Tip: Beach view a must and look for a deal for a suit .
