We spent 5 nights at Villa de l'O on a family holiday to Essaouira. This was our first time to Morocco and we'd happily go back and stay at this wonderful hotel. Essaouira is a small place and the Villa is ideally located near the Medina and beach. We booked a room to share with our 4 year old daughter and had plenty of space. She literally had her own mezzanine floor! Our room was beautifully decorated and cleaned twice daily. The attention to detail was lovely with welcome treats in our room on arrival and bottles of water replenished daily. The staff were excellent. Always on hand to answer any queries or concerns and recommending places to visit. The hotel doesn't serve any meals apart from breakfast but this was fine for us and gave us the opportunity to try the many great restaurants in Essaouira. Breakfast in the hotel is wonderful and is served either on the roof terrace or downstairs near the reception. If the weather is nice I would definitely recommend the roof as you have great views of the beach! Definitely a great experience overall for us and we look forward to returning there one day soon.

We spent one night in Villa de l'O which is in a great location. It is beautifully decorated. We had a pretty room with a very comfortable bed. There were some lovely touches such as the pastries awaiting us in our room. The rooftop does have a great view.

When we checked in, the woman at reception was friendly and helpful. However, there were several times when there was no one at the reception desk to ask for some information such as breakfast hours or time of checkout.

We did enjoy our stay in spite of this.

This Riad has been very carefully furnished (bedrooms and public rooms) and decorated in traditional but eclectic style. It was comfortable and offered great views from the roof. Excellently situated within the medina, being close also to some terrific restaurants.

We spent one night at the Villa de l'O & i would have gladly spent a week or 2 here. The Riad is perfectly situated overlooking the bay in the walls of the medina. The staff were very helpful.
Our room was beautifully decorated & the attention to detail was superb. The bed was raised & very large & very comfortable. The bathroom was curtained off from the bedroom (so if you suffer from a shy bladder you could have a problem...).
There were little pastries & delicacies in our room for us to enjoy when we arrived.
At the top of the Riad is a big open roof garden with fabulous views over the bay. Wonderful for watching the romantic sunsets.
This is also where breakfast is taken in the morning.
Absolutely stunning.

Room Tip: We stayed in the suite L'Obe - stunning

We unfortunately only spent one night at Villa de l’O but we really enjoyed our stay. The lady at the reception was very personable and gave us great recommendations on where we could eat in Essaouira!

We loved our room and the hotel - we stayed in L’Or. While a little small, we loved the décor both in our room and the hotel. Each room is done up differently and so make sure you pick the room you want when making reservations. It’s a perfect boutique hotel.

The hotel has a terrace with a spectacular view of the ocean! A perfect place to watch the sunset! The hotel is a stones throw away from the beach!

Everything about the hotel was wonderful- the service, the décor and the breakfast! My only problem was the shower area- there was no place to put the soap. The water didnt drain properly and the floor was sloping toward the center of the shower area, making it a bit awkward to stand in the shower. Also the way the loo is set up, when one takes a shower, alot of the bathroom gets wet.

That said, I would go back in a hearbeat and highly recommend it!!!!

Room Tip: Do go through the site to pick the room you want.

We stayed at this Riad for three nights and found it comfortable. The staff were quite friendly and helpful.
It is a nicely restored 18th. century house with interesting Moroccan decoration. Our room on the third floor was a decent size, a little tired especially the bathroom, but clean with a comfortable bed. There is no restaurant at the Riad but they provide a good breakfast, which if the weather is fine is served on the roof terrace where there are wonderful views.

Room Tip: Upper floor rooms are nice but if one is not able to walk very well there are a lot of steps up to t...

My first trip to Essaouira was the best trip I've taken. the staff were superb and friendly and very accommodating to our needs. The riad is very well decorated and we loved every minute of our stay. The rooms are just divine and we loved the space we had in ours. The roof terrace had lovely views and we used this daily for our breakfast and to soak up the sun. we will definitely be returning in the future.

Room Tip: our room was peaceful, airy and comfortable. we stayed in the room called L'orient
