Hubbie wanted a change from traditional Moroccan, we found this by accident, it is not an obvious restaurant, only a doorway and up some stairs. On arrival some others were just leaving so we asked their opinion, they said 'Great' so we stayed and had a really good 'wood oven' styled pizza and a nice large bowl of well cooked pasta with enough sauce for the quantity of pasta. They had beer and wine (hubbies request) and we had a nice chat with the Italian owner. So good we went there twice !

This is a great little hole in the wall restaurant that you would walk past and not realise it's presence. The ambience is very cosy with jazz music playing in the background and the preparation in the kitchen visible. We ordered 2 pizzas and a veal dish - after having tagine after tagine in between kebabs for most of our Moroccan trip, it was a pleasant change to have an authentic, home-cooked italian meal. The pizzas are cooked in a wood fired oven with hand stretched dough. You will even find prossciuto being offered, not something you find often on a Moroccan menu. They also serve Alcohol which was a relief for the other members in my party. All in all, it was a fantastic meal with great service. As another reviewer said, the service/meal may be slow but that's all apart of the experience. I am surprised this is not the No1 italian restaurant in Essaouria!

A lovely restaurant with fresh home made pasts and wonderful osso buco. It was so good I didn't ever try anything else but it was good enough to take me back a few times!

I have been here several times over the years...it is consistently one of the best places for Italian food...you can even watch them make your food...the pizza with Parma ham was delicious, homemade ravioli with spinach and ricotta, escalope with white wine sauce, grilled vegetables...and amazing profiteroles with dark chocolate sauce...All five of us were delighted with the quality of the dinner and the service is lovely! Even the coffee was wonderful..... our dinner lasted almost four hours...we kept wanting to eat more and more!! Hmm, I think I will return tomorrow night for an encore!
