Casa Guapa is an amazing and lovely place. It is beautiful - very unique and filled with love and creativity. The apartment we stayed in with our three kids was incredibly spacious. The breakfasts were delicious - and a real feast. Kept us going the whole day. Nadine, Saiida and Samira, all made our stay even more special - giving us fantastic advise on where to go so that we found the most special and delicious "secret" restaurant on the beach, on local hammams, showing us around the area, and having great fun doing henna tattoos on the roof terrace. Its close to the beach and really easy to get to the old city. Its a really special haven. We wholeheartedly recommend this place to you.

Casa Guapa was heaven. Though it's not in the old Medina it is easy to walk there and cheap to take a taxi. My friend and I had the terasse room. It was small but the fabulously imaginative and charming terasse just outside offered ample room to spread out. The breakfasts here offered the best food I had in my 3 week stay in Morocco. Really fresh, healthy and inventive! Nadine and Saiida are wonderful and greeted us like long-lost friends. They will help you get around, plan your stay and even find you a great driver (Aziz). Everything about this place feels just right. Nadine brings real love and artistry to everything she touches. We so enjoyed the other guests staying at the same time. I also recommend the nearby Hamma, where I finally had a gommage, massage, and view of Moroccan women enjoying themselves.
I can't imagine that there's another place in Essaouria that I would enjoy as much as Casa Guapa.

You know something special is happening when you pull up to the plain arcaded structure common to the new city when you see plants, wood sculptures and an originally conceived sign. You can't know though until you open the door to one of the rooms what visual treasure lies behind. Rooms that combine sleeping. living and eating--all with their own unique private baths painted in salmon, ochre, greens and yellows. If you blink, you think Taos New Mexico USA but no, it is the imagination of Nadine, the German owner of Casa Guapa whose vision, personality and joie de vivre inspires all this.

You abruptly climb stairs to the terrace where there is a double room, a separate bath, and kitchen for guests and where staff and Nadine prepare breakfast. Nadine had just completed her Hobbit House kitchen that she with the help of an Irish wizard with wood, created a kind of druid rotunda that was both outrageous, beautiful and perfect for the space. Everywhere you look you see the inspired hand of Nadine, from the offbeat, delicious jam, or pancake wrapped around fruit and sealed with a wooden pin, to plants on the loose, backed by a cozy sheltered divan with stucco walls painted with the colors of sunset. On top of all this, Nadine is funny, speaks an unlimited number of languages, is willing to entertain new ideas (like my wanting to bring a group of writers for a week to work and travel with Nadine providing the cultural background and ambiance for the trip). She knows tons of people. can probably help you locate most anything and get you to anywhere you need to go. All this while providing first rate comfortable yet quirky accommodations and a staff that will charm you the moment you arrive. I wish I lived near Essaouira so I could drop by frequently.

Room Tip: Rooms on the floors beneath the terrace are larger and give Nadine as wider palette for her imagination.

Casa Guapa was a fabulous place to stay - not just a lovely, beautifully designed and decorated house, with comfortable apartments and terrace, but provided by a great host too. Nadine couldn't have done more to ensure we enjoyed our holiday, even recommending and offering to book the next stop on our trip. We loved being shown the area when we arrived - made it so much easier to find what we needed, even down to where to buy our breakfast croissants! Can't praise it enough!

We have just returned from our honeymoon, and we stayed at Nadine's Casa Guapa for the first leg of our holiday. We rented Apartment one for 4 nights in mid February and were delighted when we arrived at the apartment!

We were shown around and were given a little tour of the local community and the best way to the medina and beach (which is approximately a 5-10 minute walk to the beach and 15-20 minutes to the medina). The apartment was very spacious and artistically decorated with all appliances and crockery etc needed.

We sampled Nadine's delicious home cooked tagine on the final night which was heavenly and found the host to be informative and helpful with lots of useful information on the local community & attractions.

Room Tip: apartment 1 & 2 for spacious, roof terrace is smaller, without kitchen (at the moment!!)
