Rumoured to be the best restaurant in town, maybe food wise, but value for money, questionable.
The restaurant is based in Riad Heurre Bleue, a very exclusive Riad so a very personalised service set in wonderful surroundings.
The trimmings you get are as expected from a high end establishment and from the start it augured well, my starters sardines the Missourra way, which were nice, sardines prepared in three different ways. My wife had the spider crab, however bits of shell were present.
For the main course I opted for the plaice and lobster this was competently cooked however my wife had issues with her dish, this led us giving feedback to the chef.
The service recovery was excellent and my compliments to the staff for such an amicable solution, which we thoroughly enjoyed, as such I have disregarded the issues in my rating.
However having eaten in a Michelin starred establishment less than four weeks ago in the south east of England, which an expensive part of the country, the food there was better and cheaper than at Heurre Bleue.
Essourra has plenty of restaurants at the fraction of the cost, so if you are going to charge high prices you would expect extraordinary food.
So the rating given reflects value for money, food quality was good.
So think carefully before you book, this in not Michelin starred cuisine, yet Michelin starred prices are being charged, so be warned so not to be disappointed.
