“Chilled and welcoming”
Reviewed 15 July 2013

After 4 hectic days in Marrakech, we decided we needed a break and to wind down. The owners of the Perle couldn't have been more helpful - they arranged a car to pick us up, drive us across Morocco and to take us as close to the Riad as possible. From the moment we arrived they were helpful with suggestions of places to go and to eat, without being overbearing.

Breakfast on the rooftop terrace overlooking the Atlantic was delightful, and the rooms were spacious and airy. Our only regret was not booking the room with the sea views.

Essaouria is a very different experience than Marrakech, and the Perle was the perfect place to experience it from.

We very much enjoyed our stay. The owner was very friendly and helpful. It is the owners home and the view from the bedroom overlooking the sea is stunning. Had breakfast on the roof terraces every morning. The Raid is just off a main shopping street and the owner will give you tips on the places to buy from and eat (or you can eat with the owners)

Room Tip: It may be more expensive but the view from the bedrooms over looking the sea is fantastic

- I did spend 2 nights at the Riad Perle d'Eau located in the harbor town Essaouira. The very nice suite had the most wonderful view to the Pacific Ocean, and I could literary sit there for hours and just watch the ebb and tides, and the waves attacking the cliffs.
The owners & staff was very nice and helpful.
This is one of the few places I have stayed I just KNOW I want to return to.
EXCELLENT!

Room Tip: - The ones facing the sea is stunning!

We stayed in the riad for 3 nights. We had rooms with full view to the sea, absolutely stunning. The rooms are decorated with care, are very clean and comfortable.
The owners are helpful, polite and interested in their clients. They gave us great suggestions for dinner / lunch restaurants - places we probably would not have found ourselves (Caravane cafe was the best experience); we felt the owners have a good insight into the attractions, restaurants, sights of the area.
They can organise camel rides etc on request for a correct price.
The weather was bad so unfortunately we had our breakfast indoors - the terrace is perfect for a sunny breakfast. Breakfast was plenty, sugary and salty things, fresh juice - some fresh fruit would be nice.
Staff was very friendly.
The riad is tucked away in a small side street right in the medina, facing the sea. Perfect location to discover the village. There are no cars in the medina, so arriving at the ramparts a porter will take all your luggage to the riad.
Highly recommended.

There are safes is the rooms. Children welcome.
This is not a 'hotel', but a more a 'home from home'.

Room Tip: Choose a room facing the sea. Views are stunning. Back rooms face the opposite building and are dark...

We chose Giselle and Ernest's beautiful riad, based on the wonderful trip advisor reports - and without doubt they are all true.
I don't feel the need to repeat all the previously said superlatives, so in an effort to add to them, we can confirm that Giselle and Ernest (along with Hisham) are wonderful hosts, with a hands on approach, ensuring every guest felt comfortable and welcome.
We arrived early evening, on a rainy night, and not really wanting to explore the town, hunting for somewhere to eat, we enquired if it was too late to eat in. It was, but as we only wanted a light meal, Ernest was extremely accomodating and provided at a very reasonable cost, a soup along with a larger portion of the starter that the dinner guests were having, and it was sensational! - we did not go hungry that night!
This gave us a taster of what their excellent cook is capable of, so we decided to eat in again later in our stay, choosing what we might like to eat, and leaving it to Ernest and Cook to produce the most delicious 4 course meal. As we were the only guests dining in that night, Giselle and Ernest joined us, and we had a most memorable and lovely evening, learning so much about - well, everything!
Ernest's local restaurant recommendations are also spot on and worth trying.
All in all, we had a wonderful stay, and can thoroughly recommend.

Room Tip: We stayed in a good value room in the rear annex, which of course did not have sea views, but was ro...

We escaped the hectic frenzy of Marrakech and chose this riad. What a great choice! It is slightly tucked away so the first time finding it might be fun, but once you do you won't be disappointed. The owners have put a great deal of effort into the aesthetics of the riad, and it is beautiful. The roof terrace is refreshing and when the sun is shining is a great place to pick up a book. The breakfast was enough to fill me up for the morning and the owners were very attentive to our needs. We also indulged in a massage whilst we were there which was very good! They also have a dinner menu which we didn't have but I expect it would have been of a similar standard. Having stayed in other places in Marrakech which were around three times the price you are onto a winner here.

Do not miss this Riad its one of the best in Morocco - the owners have paid so much attention to the details when building and furnishing and now running it. From the design and artifacts inside to the view outside and the wonderful hospitality - you will not want to leave.

Room Tip: Pick the ocean view - its more expensive but worth every penny
