“Some are born to sweet delights...”

When we first planned our trip to Morroco, we wanted to spend most of the stay in Marrakech and only a couple of days in Essaouira.

We ended up spending only 2 days in Marrakech and the rest in Essaouira, and this was both because of the city and the Riad where we stayed : Madada Mogador.

This place combines both luxurious comfort and travellers spirit. Rooms are really beautiful and well decorated, there are a lot of small details that make you feel really good in this place. The staff is very nice and friendly and help you to make the most of your stay in the city.

Icing on the cake is definitely the roof terrace overlooking the sea....

I'm very happy to have discovered this Riad that friends of mine recommeneded to me.
The people there are very nice, always ready to help. The advices about the things to do around are very well targeted to the customers... and the breakfast on the penthouse is just magic.
Many thanks to the whole team, I'll be back ASAP.

Having returned to a wet, overcast and rather chilling England we think longingly about having breakfast on the balcony of Madada Mogador in the light, warmth and with beautiful scenery all around us.
This small hotel has everything we were looking for. Dining, or just relaxing, on the balcony overlooking the sea, harbour and fortress, the hotel is situated within the walls of the old town. It is in a quiet street just a few moments from the beach, medina, souks and bustle of life. Madada has large rooms, comfortable sitting areas, library, internet access, and extremely good staff.

The Madada owner, manager and staff all worked hard in ensuring that we had everything we needed in booking restaurants, transport and generally checking each day that all was well. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Absoulutely beautiful place to stay. Friendly, helpful staff who can't do enough for you. Roof terrace breath taking, and intenal decor is superb, a real treat. Don't stay anywhere else if you're going to Essaouira. We'll be back, 'God willing.'

A very misleading entrance but what a beautiful surpise behind the doors! The staff are very friendly and welcoming staff, especially Christelle.

Our room was lovely, although it did not have a terrace which was fine as it rained very heavily that evening so would not have used it! The only problem was with the shower, there is no shower screen so the water sprays absolutely everywhere in the room if you are not extremely careful!

The roof terrace is lovely, gorgeous views and just a general relaxed feeling. The breakfast was lovely, served on the terrace in the sun.

A great break away from Marrakech, Madada Mogador and Essaouira as a whole was a refreshing trip!

  • Liked — The decor and general feel about the place
  • Disliked — The shower spraying everywhere!

We spent a week here, our second visit. The entrance is off-putting, giving no idea of the delights inside. We had the Madada suite again, with it's private balcony on the city ramparts overlooking the sea.
I think the best thing about this small hotel is the friendly atmosphere, the owners and their staff really could not be more helpful. The rooms are cool boutique style, kept spotlessly clean.
The good breakfast is served in the room or on the terrace when you like.
Dinner can be cooked by the staff and it is excellent. The owners have a share in the restaurant downstairs, which serves delicious food. I found the chairs there uncomfortable as I had backache and the hotel owner insisted that she took one of theirs downstairs.

The hotel will be extending a little, with four extra rooms and a spa. They hope to finish this in 18 months or so. It looked as though these rooms would have their own courtyard.

  • Liked — the friendly staff
  • Disliked — the lack of croissants at breakfast; i shall ask for some next time!
