“An oasis of calm”

I loved it! The people were so welcoming! And from the moment we walked in, we were greeted with the deliciously minty Moroccan tea, that we asked the staff eventually to show us how to prepare it. The hostel is so colorful and has a rooftop terrace that gives you a great vibe to meet new people and feel like home. All the staff were very friendly and happy to chat/advise on what to do in Essaouira, the prices you should pay in the market, how to get a good deal, but also about the various excursions on offer, specially jawad and hassan. I would personally recommend the 2 day sahara excursion! It was an awesome experience, I love it!

I spent 3 days in this hostel with my girlfriend and we enjoyed in a lot. The atmosfere is great, rooms are clean and neath and it has a very nice roof terrace. Especially, the guys who are running this hostel are super friendly and made our trip in Essaouira one to remember.

First came out in June planning to stay for 3 days and stayed 2 weeks… really made to feel at home here by all the staff and completely looked after, and there is a cosy common area where you can enjoy with others travellers ! we later returned for another 2 weeks after travelling most of Morocco, Essaouira especially Cloudnine took our hearts!
after checking around the town for prices we also realised that we were getting a great deal!

I have since returned many times and will always come back to stay at cloudnine hostel, all staff treat you like family!

This place was recommended to us by someone we met surfing, and it turned out great. Spent our evening there drinking outside with the rest of the people staying there - a mix of Germans, Dutch, and a crazy couple from Jersey. Our group ended up sleeping on the couches outside, as we'd wanted to try it out. It got pretty cold (thanks to it being an incredibly windy city), but we'd had a good night and enjoyed the company, so it wasn't much of a problem. Hassan, our host, was incredibly friendly and patient with everyone there. Would definitely seek this place out again.

Room Tip: Try the roof in the summer - but make sure you have a couple of jumpers

I stayed here for 4 nights in April and was just blown away by the kind staff and welcoming vibe. I met so many cool, chilled out people. The staff are so dedicated and go above and beyond to take care of the hostel and the guests. They recommended and organised a range of activities for us, which was great. As for facilities, there are hot showers (if they don't heat up, the staff will muck around with the water heater, just ask! No need to endure a cold shower). Rooftop was a great place to chill. The kitchen was small but clean. Group tagine cooking happened a few times. I loved this place so much I ended up staying an extra night, so sad to be leaving!!

This is a party hostel. If you want to party then this is the place for you.

Service: The two guys who run this hostel are wonderful and friendly and funny. They made me feel welcome.

Accommodation:
I stayed in the 6 bed dormitory on the first floor. The mattress was comfortable but the bunk bed was REALLY wobbly. Every time the person above me moved, the bunk felt like it would fall over! The room was very hot and stuffy at night time. There was no room to put my bag.

Location: Central, in the medina. Location was right in the middle of all the things you would want to see and do.

Amenities: The kitchen is tiny. I wanted to cook dinner but the saucepans were tiny and the gas stove was dangerous. There was not enough room to move and the kitchen was DIRTY. You couldn't make tea or coffee easily. I am not fussy and can usually cook or eat anything anywhere.

The bathroom was tiny and wet and dirty. There was always water on the floor and you had to wait for a long long time to use the toilet. There is one shower for 20 people and two toilets. The shower was cold.

There were free lockers in the lounge area.

The staff are great but this hostel is just too small for so many people and really needs a good scrub and clean. It is tidy, but very very dirty.

This hostel is awesome: The guys are super nice and they speak English. The location is really good, and they meet you at the station to pick you up, which is really nice. I slept under the stars up on the terrance and it was very refreshing. The price is right! AND, every night they fix Tangine and they will teach you how its done, Moroccan style.

Room Tip: If its not too cold, ask to sleep outside under the stars
