“A charming riad”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 June 2014

We have just returned from Essaouira and stayed at the riad for 2 nights. Our room was just perfect for the4 of us and we all slept so well. The room is very calming so ideal when you've been in the hustle and bustle of the medina. The staff there are so helpful and took time to give us directions and to make recommendations and reservations for us . Take their advise about the Hammam, we loved it!

Nothing was too much trouble and I felt very very relaxed in this perfect place.

Room Tip: We stayed in Pero Jago, effect for 4 of us and very quiet.

We stayed recently for two nights, and concur with the other reviews about the helpful owner and his assistant, Hayat. We enjoyed a spacious room, loved the breakfasts on the terrace (the cook gets up early each morning to make a delicious farina pancake called A Thousand Holes) complete with homemade marmalades and jams, fresh orange juice, crepes, etc and a delightful view to the ocean. The location was perfect--convenient to the sites without being right in the middle of the busy street scene. All this for a very reasonable price--wish we could have extended our stay here.

We stayed for four nights and had a fabulous time. It is a great place to stay within the city walls and all the staff were welcoming and helpful. The rooms were spacious and creatively designed which added to the calm atmosphere. Breakfasting on the roof is a real treat, looking out across the town is a great way to start the day. Essaouria is a great place to visit, with some great shopping and places to eat.

One of the best riad we have stayed in while traveling in Morocco! Everything was excellent; rooms, staff everyone went out of their way to help you. The owner Jean -Gabriel went out of his way to help us out! He tried to help us catch earlier flight do to emergency at home. We love it so much we stayed another night. Thank you everyone!

Stayed for four nights over Easter as part of an 11 day tour. This is an oasis of calm and tranquility inside the city walls. Very well located
Jean Gabriel and the staff are all very welcoming and are rightly proud of what they have created. There is a lot of attractive art work around and the Riad is reflective of Jean Gabriel's eye and view.
The breakfast is great and the evening meal we had was lovely as well.
I thoroughly recommend.

Nine of us stayed here 23 to 26 March 2014 and all of us thoroughly enjoyed the experience. You could not fault anything about the the place, the rooms were luxurious and tastefully decorated throughout and the beds comfortable. Jean-Gabriel made us most welcome and was a mine of information and advice. We were very impressed by his assistant Hayat, a very efficient and charming young lady who looked after our needs in a personable and friendly manner. The breakfasts were excellent and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. It was a bit breezy up on the terrace but lovely and sunny. Essaouira is a great place for shopping and bargains abound. Plenty of good places to eat for whatever type of food you want.

Riad Watier is tucked down a side street close to the Medina and to the sea front. So close that when the wind really blows, the spray makes it into the central courtyard. Jean Gabriel and his staff are really helpful in advising on places to go and things to see, the rooms are spacious, comfortable and individual, and if you choose to eat dinner there, you’ll get as good a meal as anywhere in town. We enjoyed three nights there, and are happy to recommend it.
