Beautiful palatial Riad, staff are friendly, rooms are large and comfy. The food on the rooftop restaurant is excellent and moderately priced. The rooftop view is worth staying in this Riad for.

You couldn't look for a better location - the sea views were fantastic! The hotel was clean and friendly and I thoroughly recommend it

Although the sea view from our room was amazing the noise of the crashing waves against the rocks kept us awake at night and we were disppaointed by the gloominess of our room and the general depressing decor of the riad. Breakfast was seved in a restaurant on the top floor with magnifiacnt views which were unfortunately spoiled by the dirty windows and the room again was depressing. Staff seemed a bit down too!
We spent 2 nights there and then moved to the smaller chepaer riad next door which we preferred. Sorry!

True to form, I had great luck once again with Tripadvisor. Booking at the last minute, as I work for an airline, I was happy to find that the Riad Mimouna was not only available, but that had the famous 110-410 rooms available (it's a 4 story walk-up). The views from these rooms are absolutely beautiful, and you'll be lulled to sleep each night with the sound of waves hitting the rocks below. The rooms are neatly appointed and very traditional looking. The breakfast room on the roof is also very nice. You can find lower room rates in Essaouira, but if you stay here and they will reserve a room ending with a number 10, you must give it a strong consideration. You'll remember the room, and the experience for a very long time! Also, as an aside, we much prefer Essaouira to Marrakech if you are with a family. Happy Travels!

We added an extra day in Essaouira after being roasted in the Sahara. It was the best decision we made in our travels and the best place we visited. The Medina is extensive and felt quite safe unlike other areas. Lots of happy people on holidays from all over the world. It is a beautiful and colorful city that should be on any traveler's itinerary for Morocco.

The hotel is great. Beautiful interior courtyard and wonderful rooms with comfortable beds. Beautiful architectural detail throughout. Free WiFi (they say weee feeee here) and a great rooftop terrace restaurant as well as outside rooftop patio for photos and panoramic view of the city. You'll need to get a porter outside the Medina to cart your bags and lead you but for 25 DH, who cares! Well worth it.

If you need a complaint to know I am a real traveler, I guess I would love to have better towels in the bath as they were pretty thin but it was the best hotel we stayed in during our trip including much more expensive ones.

When we arrived in Essaouira by taxi we immediately found a man with a cart ready to take our bags and lead us to the hotel. We were a bit anxious as he was hurrying ahead and the maze of streets did make us wonder if we would ever find our way out again. The approach to the hotel itself was in a rather ordinary looking street, but then there is the door to the hotel which is very ornate.

When you get inside it is beautiful, the architecture inside was amazing and it was everything that you picture a riad to be. The views from the roof terrace out to sea was also stunning and so the location of the hotel could not be faulted. The only thing I would say about nightime is just to be cautious. I was slightly concerned about being out late at night as the lights on the street weren't very bright if there were any at all and so I wasn't completely confortable walking back to the hotel.

The staff were very friendly and I had a massage at the hotels spa which was lovely and very relaxing. The food at the restaurant was traditional Moroccan which was tasty but not necessarily worth the price that we paid. Breakfast is served on the roof terrace (quite windy) and was lovely.

The room was very well decorated and the view very impressive, we saw other guests at breakfast but didn't hear them walking around the hotel which was good. We felt very safe in the hotel and in the town itself, it was just the lack of lighting at night that I would warn people about (mentioned previously).

After a long 3 hour plus coach journey we were very tired and could not wait to get to our hotel. Inside the City walls is pedestrian only and there were plenty of men with carts to transport your bags to the Riad. Once enetering we were impressed with the beautiful traditional interior. The hotel receptionist was friendly and helpful and immediately offered us an free upgrade on our room. We were given Room 301. Wonderful room with the most incredible sea views.Heavenly waking up and going to sleep with sound of waves hitting the rocks below. Room well cleaned every day and fresh linen given without asking. Breakfast was superb, everything you could want and great coffee. Good tea also available. Note: It can be incredibly windy...with patio sliding window in room open, makes a suction wind tunnel so bedroom door can slam if you are not careful. Read many reviews on this Riad, but we found no problems at all. Staff excellent, room lovely, breakfast perfect. It can be dark at night negotiating narrow lanes to medina, but nothing a good torch cannot solve. Felt very safe. No Alcohol unless you are prepared to pay a massive amount of money at a couple of expensive restaurants that do sell it. But Mint tea delicious and one week without any wine was no big deal. Would definitely recommend this Riad....Excellent.
