Our only experience of a "town" stay in Namibia. Peter was a charming host and makes an excellent breakfast. He was also very helpful with regard to the many activities in the area and our onward travel. Definitely recommended.

My wife and I stayed two nights in July 2014, having driven up from Sossusvlei. The room was clean and comfortable and looked out on to a beautifully kept garden area, which we could enjoy thanks to the table and chairs in the porch way. The bathroom had a large shower and the room itself was well-equipped. Breakfast was excellent and Peter and his team were extremely helpful - they even provided breakfast earlier than usual on the day that we were heading down to Walvis Bay for a kayaking trip. For dinner, it is walking distance from the Tug, which we would also recommend (great seafood at a seafront location). We also went further afield, to The Wreck, which was also very good. For this, Peter arranged a taxi for us - as in Windhoeck, the arrangement is that they ring a trusted taxi driver who picks you up and gives you his contact details. Once you have finished your meal, you give the restaurant the number of your taxi driver, who picks you up and you only pay for your return trip when you get back. A very smooth arrangement that takes out any concerns that first-time visitors may have with regards to security.

We would definitely recommend the Cornerstone . We would also recommend the kayaking trip in the lagoon at Walvis Bay with Eco Marine Kayaking - it is a brilliant morning, kayaking with the seals and (if you are lucky, as we were) dolphins.

Very welcoming with the beautiful garden and lovely fresh, clean room ( with a double bed!) Robyn, in reception, was delightful & so helpful.
We left our dirty laundry on the bed and came back from our excursion to find it washed, ironed and folded and ready to pack away, so appreciated.
Enjoyed our breakfasts too.
Would definitely stay here again, it is very well situated and within easy walking distance to the beach and restaurants, shops etc.

Room Tip: We were in room 2

This is the best B&B we have ever come across. Receptionist Robyn gave us a warm welcome, l advised us on restaurants and even booked us a table. Our room was large, well-equipped and clean. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was massive with a bath, a shower and his and hers basins! We had a sitting area outside. Wifi worked well everywhere and there was secure parking. Seriously, you are wasting your money staying at a hotel when you can stay here and walk to so many great restaurants. Breakfast was freshly cooked and you had just about everything you want including a good choice of cereals, full English breakfast, a variety of cheeses and cold German meats, fresh rolls etc. Peter, the charming owner, was very helpful advising us on attractions and directions.

Room Tip: Ours was room 5 but I would expect any room to be OK.

Have recently returned from Namibia, where we spent two nights at the Cornerstone guesthouse.

We were impressed from the moment we stepped into the beautiful garden, and the very warm welcome we received. Everything was immaculate, attention to detail resulted into a very high standard. The rooms are very pleasant, with a small private outside sitting area. It is also very close to town.

Peter was an excellent host at breakfast, which was buffet style but you are also able to order cooked breakfast. Which my husband assures me was very good.

We hope to return to Namibia one day and the Cornerstone guesthouse will be a priority stop for us.

Swakopmund has awesome sand dunes in the surrounding areas, a beautiful ocean front and then there is Cornerstone Guesthouse, a gem of a B&B in a quiet corner of this peaceful seaside town. Above all, it is run by some of the nicest and dedicated people you would ever meet. We thoroughly enjoyed our four consecutive nights here in June.

In the first morning of our stay, we were warmly welcomed at breakfast by Pete, the owner, who immediately made us feel completely at home. Robyn and Bettina, two super-efficient ladies managing the front desk, made sure guests get any help they needed that would make their stay one to remember (we were given a cellphone to contact them outside office hours if ever help was needed). I would be grossly guilty of ingratitude if I didn't single out Robyn for special mention. She went way beyond the call of duty to help us with a challenging personal situation. We are extremely grateful for her act of kindness which is rare in the hospitality business these days. Big brownie points to Robyn.

The breakfast at Cornerstone was buffet style and it was a feast every time. Bread, jam, croissant, cold cuts, fruits, juices, cereals, coffee, tea and much more filled the buffet table. How they managed to get Lychee juice in Swakopmund I’ll never know! But it was a pleasant surprise. Of course you can order your eggs and bacon in your favourite style too. Cornerstone was made aware by our tour operator of my wife’s special dietary needs. As if on cue, a special plate filled with goodies tailored to her needs was brought to our table every morning as we arrived for breakfast. The attention to detail here is simply astounding.

Our room was big and the attached bathroom was nearly as big. Everything was in immaculate condition. The bathroom had his and hers wash basins. It also had a separate bathtub with a hand held shower attachment in addition to a standalone shower stall. There was a safe in the closet. If you preferred fresh air, the covered front porch allowed you to sit with your feet up to admire the well-manicured garden.

After four nights we really felt an attachment to the place. We were reluctant to leave.
