“Very nice hotel”
Reviewed 29 March 2013 via mobile

Very nice hotel near the centre of town and within easy walking distance of the beach. The rooms are large, well appointed, comfortable and very, very clean as is the whole hotel. Only minor grumble is the traffic noise in the road facing rooms but fortunately traffic gets very quiet late at night.

It was my second visit to Eberwein and I was just as pleased this time. I always get quick and friendly reply's on my emails so booking is easy and efficient.
It is an old but nicely renovated hotel in Jugend style situated a little bit off the coast and center but not too long for both being within walking distance.
Last time I stayed in one of the old rooms in the original building and this time in the newly added annex. There is not a big difference. Rooms are not big but well equipped and comfortable.
Breakfast is very good with efficient and very friendly kitchen staff.
Overall this is a decently prized, small, friendly and cosy hotel, nicely situated on the main road and with walking distance to shops, restaurants and the beech.

Hotel Eberwein is a warm and friendly hotel with old-time charm and modern amenities. The bed was extremely comfortable and the breakfast was fabulous. The only draw back was the lack of WiFi. While it did exist, it did not in the room itself. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful.

We take clients on safari in Namibia, and the Swakopmund/Walvis Bay area is always on our itinerary. We've stayed 3 years in a row at this beautiful old world European style hotel in Swakopmund. Clients love the huge, very clean rooms and baths. Beds are very comfortable, with plenty of pillows and warm covers.
There's a bar on the first floor, and guests are invited to use wi-fi in the bar area. As of 2012, wi-fi was spotty in the rooms, but dependable in the bar/lounge.
Front desk staff is very helpful, and recommends restaurants and attractions, when asked.
Entrance to the hotel is also secured by an locked iron gate and a guard will be manning it certain hours of the evening.
We will be returning!

Room Tip: This section of Swakopmund is quiet at night, street traffic is minimal. Even a room on the street...

This hotel is absolutely perfect in all respects. It is scrupulously clean and the staff are 200% customer focussed. If you can, take the upgraded rooms with baths, high decorated plaster ceilings and exquisite bed linen. We were there in August and needed heat, which was available. If you require a/c there is none but fans are provided. If the hotel is full you may have to wait to be seated for breakfast - a point to remember if you are in a hurry. Shops start to close at 13.00 on Saturdays but there is a supermarket open most of the time - Pick & Pay. Out of the hotel, turn right, about two blocks down on the left, 09/12 the aquarium is closed for renovation and it looks like it is going to take some time to complete. YOU MUST GO ON THE WALVIS BAY CRUISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are also lots of other activities. The Crystal Gallery is superb. Restaurants tend to be busy and if you don't want take aways you need to book EVERYWHERE - even in the pubs!

On our visit from Vancouver Canada, we were greeted by a professional and most helpful staff. The hotel is truly immaculate everywhere. Breakfast was perfectly fresh and served in a lovely lounge. Rooms and bathrooms are large. This is a boutique styled hotel that's centrally located and a great value.

We highly recommend the Hotel Eberwein.
