Rooms are clean and modern. Beautiful building. Good location. Excellent service. Nice and cosy breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay at edelwein. Nice with complimentary sweet vine in the room. This hotel is really good value for money. Free internet.

Hotel within walking distance from the centre of Swakopmund. Interior of the hotel very charming. Remembers you of good old times, Jugendstil influence. Breakfast was just delicious. We had dinner at the seaside and returned walking to the hotel. Swakopmund still witnesses German influence. Staff at the hotel and at the reception very friendly. Enjoyed our stay!

Rooms are of good size, very clean, with all the usual amenities. Well trained, friendly staff that make you feel welcome. Good breakfast buffet with a wide variety of food. Note that the hotel offers no other meals, but there are many good restaurants within easy walking distance. Even though wifi is supposed to work only in the lobby area I had good reception in my room on the first floor near the stairs. There is a bit of street noise so you can not leave the windows open during the night.

Laundry service is done by an outside supplier, it was well done at fair prices.

Hotel is very attractive both outside and inside and is well maintained and in great condition. The hotel sits about 10-15 mins stroll from the centre of Swakopmund.

Check in was quick and friendly. We had room 8 on the 2nd floor facing the street. There was some street noise at night and also early in the morning. Ear plugs worked wonders. The room was very nice and the twin beds very comfortable. The room had a TV ( old style) safety deposit box, 2 easy chairs, a desk, fridge (that has alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks in it), tea/coffee making facilities and a wall cabinet with glasses etc, full sized wardrobe with enough shelf space.
The room does not have an A/C - but I did not find it a problem at all. The outside wall onto the street was was almost entirely made of glass.

The toilet/shower room is separate, with the toilet in a separate section at the rear. Hotel does provide free toiletries.

All in all the room was quite spacious and finished off to a good quality.

The bar is downstairs and located just in front of the dining area. It is cute BUT closes quite early (around 9pm, I believe). Prices are very reasonable. The breakfast area is bright and clean and I thought the spread was really good indeed (one of the best I saw in Namibia) - it was both continental and cooked. The hotel does not do dinner or lunch but we werer told that if you ask you could get a sandwich of something like that.

I enjoyed the hotel very much and would not hesitate going back.

Room Tip: Probalby get an inside room - but you will not have much a a view!!

This is a truly old-world hotel. The rooms are excellent, the breakfast is delicious and there are a lounge and terrace to relax on. Unfortunately, this historic building is on the main road through Swakopmund so noise is higher than you might want.

Stayed 3 nights, great location pretty much in the centre of town. The room we had (room 5) didn't face the road, so was nice and quiet. There was no air con but the fan that was provided was more than adequate. There was also a fridge stocked with well priced drinks and snacks. Breakfast was lovely, and they'd taken the trouble to provide some rice cakes for my gluten free diet. We ate out at Bits and Pizza's (they do gluten free pizzas as well as ordinary ones) and also the fish deli - both were great. They have underground secure parking and you are given a fob to operate the electronic door.
