“All fine but with little charm”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 December 2013

This guesthouse is fine but there is nothing charming about it. Our room was spotless, as is the rest of the guesthouse. The guesthouse is secure and in a good neighbourhood. The breakfast spread is a fine and everyone is helpful. But the place lacks something. There is WiFi but the signal didn't reach our room (as promised) and the safe in our room couldn't be opened! Which in the scheme of things is all unimportant but rather sums up our guesthouse stay.

Large and clean rooms, excellent breakfast, advices and help all around your stay, warm welcome... Consy, the guesthouse manager, is looking after all of this! We loved that place and recommend it without any hesitation. Thanks again Consy! Chantal from Belgium

I stayed there for 3 nights in May 2013. The place is nice, it's not the best I've been to, but it was clean, the breakfast was good, nothing exceptionally good but nothing to complain about on that side. The room I stayed in was not very spacious, but it was OK (although very humid).

The owner is a very nice, sweet and helpful man (I would say he's the best part of this B&B). I very much enjoyed interacting with him. I just wish he had been around when we checked out, because I wonder if the lady in charge of the house would have behaved the same way.

She had been nice to us the entire stay and when we left she turned into another person. She demanded a tip from us in an extremely rude way. Nowhere else in Namibia was a tip demanded. She was simply very rough about it, cold and distant and we left with a bitter taste in our mouth. That was the first and only negative encounter during our entire 1-month stay in Namibia.

Management took the complaint about the "rude lady" very serious but could not find any evidence to proof that our excellent receptionist , Consy, was guilty of demanding tips. We want to assure our clients that tipping is a matter of your own choice and not at all an expectation from us. We urge our clients to read the other responses concerning the behaviour of our staff and decide for your self.We welcome your unbiased opinions because we want to serve you with true Namibian hospitality of high standards.

We attended a family wedding in Swakopmund and eleven family members stayed at Fischreiher Guesthouse. The owners went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. The rooms were very clean comfortable. It was a short walk to the beach and not too far to walk into town. We left early in the morning and the owner ensured our breakfast was ready on time. I would recommend this accommodation.

We stayed at the Fischreiher Guesthouse for 2 nights during our visit to Swakopmund and Walvis Bay. It is a very clean B&B with big rooms and very helpful owners and nice staff.

It is not far from the city center (5 minutes by car) and in a quiet neighbourhood. They have parking available on the private grounds as well. Our room had a shower and bathtub, fridge and TV. Pricing is very reasonable.

Breakfast is quite nice with lots of choices and they even have tasty pancakes. Owner offered to reserve table at a very nice restaurant in town.

Only negative thing: I would doubt that the music choice for breakfast is what most people are used to. But this is more of a fun detail - not a real negative comment. ;-)

Would recommend this place to anyone without hesitation.
