The campsite in Damaraland is still being built and as a result there are not many facilities available, however the rates are N$120pppn which was extremely poor value as this was the same rate being offered by other campsites with more facilities. The funny thing is that the camp was deserted when we got there but an upfront payment was still demanded.
Each campsite has a braai pit, NO POWER and a donkey to heat up the water. We had to move after the first night as the donkey was not working. Firewood is available at N$25per bundle. There are no other facilities so one advantage is that you do feel you are a bit in the wild.
There are lots of animal tracks around including elephant spoor but not sure if the desert elephants actually visit the campsite any more - we didn't see any. Also, if you do stay here, be careful especially at night as we found a small white scorpion (the poisonous kind) around our campsite.
