“Go for the gold!”

Just look for the bright yellow house across from the lagoon in Walvis Bay. If you're a birder, this is the place to stay as you're in the perfect location to view the thousands of flamingos that fill the lagoon. Spectacular in winter, I can't imagine how amazing it looks in spring.
We had a second-floor room with a balcony looking across the street to the lagoon. Beautiful views at sunrise and sunset.
Internet access is free. Garden/pool is nicely kept. Room would be spacious for two; we were three and there was plenty of room. Everything neat and clean; very pleasant. Hosts very friendly and helpful. A bit of a two-step to get the various vehicles in and out of the narrow parking area, but the host handled it well.
Not within walking distance of town centre, but good if you want to take walks around the lagoon. Seems safe—many locals jogging/dog walking in that area.
Recommended if you don’t mind (or prefer) being away from the centre of things in town.
Only caveat: The location is quiet at night, but near busy intersection which is noisy during the day. Not sure how restful it would be to relax in the garden/pool area during the day. We were always out, so didn’t try it.

The owners immediately made us feel at home and were very helpfull in arranging our tour of the bay and Sandwich Harbour the next day.
The rooms are very comfortable with full wifi acces, a great view over the bay and a clean bathroom. Allthough we only stayed 2 nights, we made use of the laundry service which was great as we travelled from Sossusvlei and all our clothes were sandy.
It's simple, clean with friendly and helpfull owners.

Room Tip: I believe all the rooms have bay-view, so you can't go wrong there.

Walvis Bay was a stopover for us on the way to Etosha. As such, we didn't expect luxury or any pretense. It was a a B&B and a nice one, just across from the beach, convenient to the small town center. The owners were away for the weekend so we saw them only briefly the morning we left.

We were aware that the property was on a main street so we hoped it would be quiet at night. As a light sleeper, I am very sensitive to noise. Double glazing of the sliding doors to the small terrace would have been very welcome. But the major noise problem, unfortunately one that the owners have no control over, was a large dog in a yard across a street from the rear of the loge. It barked literally all night.

The morning we left, the staff were in our room cleaning as we had breakfast, an inconvenience as we prepared to leave. It gave us the feeling we were being rushed out, at 9 in the morning.

Nothing very negative to say about the loge but we can't really recommend it. It just didn't have a very warm and cozy feel about it.

Stayed for two nights at this cosy and personal guesthouse. The owners are extremely helpful with everything from noticing our soon to be flat tyre to calling Jeanne to organize pick-up for the kayaking. Good rooms with ocean views and creative decorations!

The Lagoon Lodge is a wonderful place to stay in Walvis Bay! While Walvis is not as charming as Swakopmund, all of that is forgotten when you step inside the Lagoon Lodge! The hosts are charming and extremely helpful. They provide a wealth of information on the plethora of activities offered in the area and even loan you a jacket if you are heading out on a boat tour unprepared. The breakfast was first rate and the rooms were wonderfully appointed. The common areas are gorgeous, filled with wonderful pieces from all over the world. The view from my balcony was wonderful and I slept great! If you are planning on a boat tour, or need a quiet place to stay while at the Port, this is the place to go!

This was my 3rd stay, with my first having been in 2006 and the second in 2007 with some British friends. I love the place and whilst Swakopmund a few kilometers away is tempting this is really a beautiful, peaceful B & B with charming hosts situated in a lovely spot in what is really an ugly town. The rooms are fantastic and it is great to sit and read a book overlooking the lagoon as the Flamingoes fly by. It has become a standard 2-3 day add-on to any trip in the region. The breakfast is fantastic as well. One can do a number of activities in the area and the "Little Five" tour of Tommy Collard is great. Importantly, give yourself a few hours to enjoy the walks around the lagoon and the sunset, weather permitting, from your room. Great place to share with a special person.
