This is a nice place for a quick look while on a self guided tour of the island. The gardens are lovely and the cave is quite dramatic. It costs next to nothing to visit so make sure you do.

If you rent a car its worth taking a look at this cave in the north-east of the island which has a small shrine to one of New Caledonia's first queens. You can rent a torch and explore the cave, but does get pretty dark and slippery. The woman at the entrance is very friendly and if you speak french can tell you all about it.

Stopped by here on a bus trip. It was a very nice short walk through some bush then you are at the grotto it is quite big and if you walk right into the back you can't see a thing luckily the lady give us a torch so we could see. Quite amazing well worth a visit. Good place to take some. Nice photos.

Worth a visit if you are on a tour bus but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. 250CPF entry for adults then a 5 minute walk through jungle into an average sized cave where the locals hid from the French back in the day.

We stopped here on whim with our rental car. The road to the track is completely sealed and there is plenty of parking. You take a gorgeous little walk through the bush (5 minutes max), past a burbling brook to a large cave. The cave has a little catholic shrine and further back is the hide out the local queen used during the second half of the 19th century. The track was a little muddy. If you don't have a tourch, you can rent one from the friendly lady running the entry kiosk.
