I do not have anything to compare this hotel to in Port Harcourt, but found it very overpriced for what it offers. It is a used, tired, musty place, with simple, clean bedrooms (although carpets seemed questionable), wifi in the lobby (plug-in for the bedroom) and a very expensive restaurant (for what you get). The staff in the restaurant and lobby were quite nice, but the armed guard on every floor was a little intimidating. I know folk say "This is Nigeria, so what do you expect?" Well, for the money, I expected more and have stayed at other hotels in other cities in Nigeria which were a lot more pleasant. Having said that, I felt quite safe here (although very restricted), slept well and was able to access reliable internet service.

The security when in Nigeria/Port Harcourt is the main concern, which is why I'd recommend this hotel. The service is poor and extremely slow, but this is also my general experience at Central Africa hotels. However did expect more from a "high class" hotel as this one.

It is obvious that they do not have much competition for their business visitors.

Security is plenty with the double gates at the entrance, barb wired walls and guards. Food is average quality (considering you're in PH, it is good quality). Both breakfast and dinner is buffet. Internet connection good. Expect power losses in between, due to backup generators it will normally be less then half a minute. They accept USDollars at the reception, however they will (demonstratively) take forever to give you change.

Overall facilities are very good, but the staff makes you feel very unwelcome (exception: all guards I met smiled and were polite!)

Considering this is in Nigeria, the hotel offers good facilities. Room was clean, bathroom functional, internet working. The lunch buffet and breakfast are heavily overpriced for what is offered. Later took the bar breakfast for half the price, it was just fine.

I've read other reviews, and I can't agree with most of them. First of all, we are talking about Nigeria here. Constant electrical power problems can't be hotels fault. They have back up generator, and every time it was starting in matter of seconds.
Food can be better, but it is far from awfull. Rooms are clean, aldo a bit damp.
Most important part is in safety. High walls, barbed wire, and armed guards are securing this hotel. Maybe it looks like prison from outside, but frequent visitorst to PH know how important this is.
Prices are to high, but they can have it, because they know that they have no equal competition in PH for expatriots safety.
