“Amazing value for transit or sightseeing”

I stayed here for one night on a layover in NYC. I got a room by bidding $55 on priceline in the 3-star catgegory near LaGuardia airport. I couldn't have asked for anything better. The place was spotless, the rooms were nice, flat screen TVs, free continental breakfast, free airport shuttle, fitness room and complimentary internet. You really can't ask for much more in a business hotel. I also noticed the ease with which other guests were getting to and from NYC. I've stayed in hotels in Secaucus NJ before while visiting NYC. Don't do that. Stay at the Fairfield if you can't afford Manhattan.

We work hard to make a good life for our families. We are not rich. We probably never will be. Were it not for Spirit Airlines $9 club plus Marriott Rewards points and the Fairfield La Guardia Astoria, we probably could have never afforded this trip. We were 3 adults and 3 kids (ages 6-12) and had 3 rooms. The shuttle came to pick us up immediately when we called. The driver was kind to help with luggage. We got to the hotel in no time and checked in. Front desk staff was very kind and professional. Rooms were fine. Clean, roomy enough, and everything was in its place. Keep in mind that this is a Fairfield Inn--and not the Ritz Carlton. The beds are most comfortable. The room was spotless. Hospital clean. Breakfast was great. Plenty of cereal, fruit, delicious and fresh croissants, bagels, english muffins, etc. Also biscuit sandwiches that you could micro if you wanted. Delicious coffee and good juice. More than we ever have at home. The hotel is about a 10-15 min walk to the Astoria Blvd S subway station. The walk takes you by the fire house, police station, and a couple of stores and bakery/pizzeria. With kids along, these were all "attractions" to them. Or you can catch a ride in the van to the subway station. The subway is about 30 min to Times Square. If you get noise from the street, check and make sure that your windows are completely secure and shut. Everyone loved the Fairfield Inn La Guardia Astoria. It served our needs beautifully and we were able to use Marriott Reward points which was really nice. Like I said, we used points for 2 nights/3 rooms. Got the tickets for $9 each (and, with the airport departure and security fees, the six of us flew RT from FLL for just under $300). We really enjoyed the hotel and would definitely stay here again. The free wi-fi was very convenient. We didn't have a car, but I understand that parking is free. You couldn't do that in Manhattan -- parking could easily cost $30/night and probably more.

For a limited service hotel, I have never seen better. The rooms are clean and well-appointed, The staff is friendly and helpful. We chose the location for its proximity to our daughter, but the location is excellent -- it is close to LGA and to Manhattan, and it is easy to find and easy to get in and out of - which is not always true in the boroughs. Free onsite parking is a big plus too. And for all of that, the price is great too.

Stayed at this "new" hotel for the first time, as it is closer to family than the other two airport Marriotts. The hotel shuttle picked us up quickly. The hotel is small, as are the rooms and public areas. Clean and functional, with good beds. A quilt in each bottom drawer. Free breakfast (main course is microwaved breakfast sandwiches, which I didn't like much). No restaurant, but some deliver. Shuttle will take you to nearby subway stop. We used local car-service. CRT Sony TV in room. Single cup coffee maker in room. One elevator. Hallways seemed narrow, although well lit. Didn't check out the fitness room. Staff seemed friendly. Will go back to the other hotels next trip, as they are often all about the same price.

I'm most impressed by the service - truly excellent, not at all what I'd expect from a hotel near the airport. Others' positive comments are absolutely true as well - definitely a good choice, especially for the price

DON’T STAY HERE as you won’t know what ridiculous policy they may have. For example, they don’t allow anyone under 21 to check in. Also, they are very unhelpful and unaccommodating.

I stayed here because hotels closer to LGA were booked up due to the US Open. Staff was friendly and that is the end of the positives.

Let me start by saying that I am not a complainer. I expect clean, hassle free accommodations as I am a frequent business traveler. Here goes: The room had a musty smell ( this made it difucult to eat in the room). Saw some bugs in the room (on the sheets though not bed bugs). Saw some long hair in the bathroom (I have short hair). There is no restaurant in the hotel and the closest one is 4 blocks away (they do provide multiple takeout/delivery menus). Had to sleep with the TV on to drown out the noise of traffic on the interstate and the vendor selling food on the street (5 am wake up call came real fast). Airport shuttle driver should not receive a safe driver award.

Conclusion: Stay at the LGA Courtyard or Airport Marriott when possible (if not, stay in the city and leave earlier in the morning).
