“Great family stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 November 2013

We really enjoyed our time at this hotel. We got a sea view room on the ground floor which was the nest thing ever. The kids were able to swim while we sat on the sun lounges by the pool and by our room. The small play ground is perfect as well for my age kids (4yrs & 6yrs) located right by the pool.

The food was great and the a la carte menu was affordable while the buffet was a nice treat. There is a huge Lulu's in town which was great for picking up picnic food to have by the beach right next to the hotel. We enjoyed the fort in town next to Lulu's.

The best experience was going on the boats, snorkeling and seeing the dolphins in the fjords.

This hotel, according to friends, is the best in Khasab, by some distance and we found it quite a pleasant place with helpful staff. It sits in a great location overlooking the sea and the mountains to the front, so try to get a seaview room. The rooms are large and clean and the beds were comfy.
We tried the Buffet on the evening we stayed, which was very good with a wide choice of local dishes. The Breakfast buffet was equally good and catered for an international clientele.
We went on a dhow trip the next day (yes we did see dolphins) and if you have driven up, its worth following the minibus to the port in the morning as you'll easily miss the port entrance if you don't know it, and want to make a quick getaway in the evening.
The Musandam 'fiords ' are well worth seeing from the water ....... like Norway, but they forgot to add the christmas trees!
A bit pricey overall, but the best in Khasab.
We used bookings.com and got a discount.

Room Tip: Try for sea view

Make sure that you get a room with sea view at this hotel! It is beautifully located on a rock with a stunning view. There are also rooms on the mountain side, I was unlucky last time and we got a room without view. The breakfast buffet was very good.
The affiliated dive center (Extra Divers) offers trips to Musandam for diving. The diving was average and the service on the dive boat not impressive. However, I always like to come back to Khasab - it's a beautiful place!
If you are there for the first time I would recommend a Dhow cruise to the Musandam fjords - you'll see dolphins surfing in the bow wave there.

This hotel is beautiful to say the least
It is nicely perched on a rock at the sea side (no sandy beach though) but it makes up because if it's breathtaking views from the spacious rooms and balconies and from the pool
It is amazing waking up to see the sun reflect of the blue water amidst a maze of mountains
Would have loved to stay more
We got a great walk in deal without any booking
The staff was also helpful to guide us through the Oman border on phone
Definitely recommend ed to anyone going in that direction

I've been to Khasab for the very 1st time, and the car ride is breathtaking until you reach Khasab City from Al-Darah Border post (Oman - UAE). The stay at the resort was amazing, clubbed along with tasty breakfast, having enough vegetarian and non-vegetarian options that you feel bruched.
The rooms are luxury for 2 and comfortable for 3. Room service was a little slow but I've seen a lot worse, so compared to that, it was okay. October-November-December-January are the best months to visit for the morning mist, sea view, chilled air, dhow cruise, snorkeling, dolphin bay, & mountain safari. All in all good experience, it doesn't needs more than 2 days and 1 night unless you are relaxed on your schedule. Enjoy :D like I did.

Room Tip: Ask for SEA view.

The hotel was decent, made better by the friendly and personable staff at reception. Our room was clean and we had a nice view out onto the water. This said, the hotel is old and worn. It does the trick for a night if you're in Musandam to see the Fjords but I wouldn't pay full price. Go with a Cobone/Groupon deal, this hotel always seems to be offering them. We weren't brave enough to eat in the hotel so can't comment on the food.
Another tip regarding the Dhow cruises if you're planning on doing one: there are TONS of companies in the town of Khasab and virtually all of them go out on a daily basis. We visited a couple different places and were able to negotiate a great deal. We actually ended up getting our own private motor boat with driver plus snacks and snorkelling gear for cheaper than a dhow cruise. And, by the way, don't buy a cobone for the dhow trips, the cobones are actually more expensive than the real daily dhow rates in Khasab are!

Room Tip: Pay the tiny bit extra to have a sea-view room.

The Golden Tulip in Khasab is definitely a 4-star place that I thoroughly enjoyed for two days. It is located right on the trip of the Mus.... Peninsula and has a pretty large swimming pool and a small kiddy pool with wonderfully warm water and a turquoise color.

My air-conditioned room was very clean and spacious with a balcony that overlooked the Strait of Hormuz. The room had two double beds which were quite cozy. There was lots of closet space with ample coat hangers. I found a safe in the closet.

Unfortunately, the small bathroom did not have a bathtub but it did have an adequate shower with plenty of hot water. Of course, there was a clean sink, commode and ample bath towels which were changed daily.

I thoroughly enjoyed the tasty breakfast buffet which was certainly ample, and the service was exemplary. I also like the hotel’s dinner buffet that I partook outside on a terraza.

The hotel has Internet service but it will cost you $7 US dollars for only a half hour use. I felt that was a rip off, so I passed on using it.
