“How do you take your coffee?”

We take ours home!

We had a great experience! Rich, the owner, was out of town, so we were in the very capable hands of their manager, Gary. Gary picked us up from our hotel promptly at the agreed upon time.

At the farm we had a very comprehensive & educational presentation about coffee. (Pay attention, because there will be a test!) Gary is so knowledgeable and taught us so much. We then toured the farm and got to see all the work & skill that goes into growing great coffee beans. After the tour we went back to the office for a coffee tasting of two different roasts. Great coffee! We then roasted our own coffee beans to take home! We loved this part.

The company is fair trade and they also do a lot to support their staff's education and well being as well as supporting & sustaining an elementary school in the San Blas Islands. So glad we chose this farm!

Gary took us back to town and since we had time before our next activity, he took us to a local restaurant (Restaurante Sabrason) for lunch together, which was another great experience (the food and the time with Gary).

“Best coffee tour in Boquete”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 June 2014

This tour came highly recommended by our hotel. The owner picks you up at your hotel and the group is usually 6-8 people. Rich has an incredible knowledge of all things coffee. Walking around the farm was great, super views and very interesting. Rich is very active in helping the local community. He will show you how things were done in the past and how he does things now. Much better for the staff including much higher pay. After the walking tour you return to the main area where you get to sample several types of coffee. Then one member of the tour is chosen to be the coffee roaster. Rich explains all of the little details of roasting and when finished he gives each tour member a half kilo of the coffee you just roasted to take home. Then a cold beer if you drink or cold water. Then he drops you off at your hotel. We had a great time.

“Amazing/life changing experience!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 May 2014

One of the main things I had to do was go to a coffee farm in Panama. I looked up and wrote to all 3 tours in Boquete and got the best response from Rich and went based off the good reviews. I took my mother and went on the tour that lasted about 3.5 hours (sounds like a lot, especially when there's a nearby volcano to hike), but it was totally worth it! The guide (Rich) explained everything there is to know about coffee and the industry, I had no idea how poorly other places and companies treat their workers and ran their farms. I'm still not a big coffee drinker, but his informative tour was life changing for me!

“Fantastic tour!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 April 2014

We joined this tour on New Year's Eve and had a wonderful experience. The landscape is stunning, and we enjoyed walking around the grounds. We learned a great deal about the coffee industry and the importance of fair trade, and left with several book recommendations on the topic. As we chatted, we were able to sample several different types of coffee accompanied by a sweet treat. Rich walked us through the processes of growing, drying and roasting coffee. While this was a tour, the energy of the experience and small group size allowed it to be personal. The door-to-door service makes this trip easy to join - this was a great way to spend a few hours, and a true highlight of our time in Boquete.

“Highlight of our trip to Panama”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 March 2014

I'm writing to thank you so much for the lovely tour that my husband and I enjoyed at Finca Dos Jefes in January. Your tour was truly a highlight of our time in Panama! It was such a touch of class for you to pick us up from our hotel and to take time to inquire about our coffee drinking habits rather than diving right into your own view of the best way to enjoy a cup of joe. Your love of coffee shined through and your passion for changing the coffee farming industry is commendable and inspiring. Your farm was absolutely beautiful and we loved learning all about the coffee industry. We certainly enjoyed our bag of coffee and our families loved theirs as well. Thanks again for sharing your gorgeous farm and special knowledge with us for an afternoon!
