Whilst out walking on a rainy day, I stumbled upon an elderly couple and got chatting to them. They recommended this coffee farm for a tour. It was a stroke of luck !! I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and found the thing very interesting. The owner was away but the girl in charge knew her stuff.

Fabulously informative, gorgeous location. Organic coffee farm, fairly paid workers, 100% sun-dried beans. Taste test locally farm grown coffee. Roast your own at end of tour and take a sample home. They'll even pick you up take you back to Boquete.

We were lucky to have a private tour as no one else signed up for the tour that day. A lovely lady picked us up on time and gave us the tour. Even though she is Panamanian her English is perfect, which made it easy for us to follow. We learned a lot about the coffee industry and the coffee itself, walked around the property and between the coffee plants, had a tasting of medium and dark roasts and got to roast our own coffee in the end. We had doubts, if 30$ aren't too much for such a tour. But all doubts were gone by the end of the tour. The reasons are: great guide, extremely informative, social project (dormitory at a school in the mountains) is supported with the income of the tour, delicious tasting of coffee and cascara tea, own roasting & around 125g of freshly roasted coffee per person.
This tour is a must do, not only for coffee addicts :)

First of all I want to say that we absolutely LOVED the tour. We were picked up by the guide, who is a girl working at the farm. She speaks perfect english, is very kind and also knows a lot about the coffee and also about the coffee industry. She explained us every single step from cherry to to the cup. We were walking through the farm, roasted our own coffee and even got a bag of coffee included in the price of the tour. It took about 2 1/2 hours. We can highly recommend finca dos jefes to everyone who wants to learn something about coffee and panamesian agriculture, doesn't matter if you like coffee or not.

This tour is a must-do! I had wanted to take a coffee tour, but I had no idea I would learn so much and walk away with such a strong understanding of the coffee industry. Rich is an amazing guide and gave us so much information about the process of growing and making coffee, as well as the economics of the industry itself. The farm is beautiful, and the coffee is delicious! 100% recommend.
