“Great location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 March 2013

The Boquete River Inn was a great place to stay, just minutes from busy Boquete. The owner, Ken, was very accomodating to us when we had to change the dates of our stay. Ken was also a wealth of information and was eager to answer any questions we had about Panama. We only stayed two nights, but will happily stay longer next time. The grounds are beautifully maintained and the view from the wandering pathway above the Boquete River is gorgous. There are four cottages and two rooms inside the main house; we stayed inside the house and felt right at home! One thing that all should know is that the road to the Inn is a rocky ride, but then again so are the other roads in this area. However, our little Hyundai Accent managed just fine.

Room Tip: If you are honeymooning, we'd suggest a cabin. Be prepared to travel a bumpy road. Look for th...

I stayed in one of the B&Bs for just over a week and had a GREAT stay. The B&B is located just outside of Boquete so often misses the nightly rainfall that the town receives. The climate in the dry season is just perfect; warm during the day and cool at night.

The owner Ken is gracious and quite helpful. And offers up a bunch of humour throughout the day.

The grounds and rooms are quite clean. The pool is awesome!

Laundry is available at $5/day (instead of a load like other places I've encountered), so if you got a lot to do, it's best to compile it all in one day.

The Inn is pet-friendly.

There is a bus stop at the top of the street that takes you into town for a very reasonable price. Otherwise, you can take a taxi into town that is, unless you have your own vehicle.

Room Tip: If you're taking a taxi, it's best to take one of the Inn's business cards. Especially...

Loved, loved, loved our 3 night stay here. Owner Ken made us feel right at home, including our 3 kids which we really appreciated. He really made their day when he shared a cake with them that he had baked! They also had a riot one evening at the ‘dance party’ he hosted for them on the dance floor - including disco lights! Ken was also very helpful and knowledgeable in answering our travel questions and let us use his phone when we needed to try to make our next hotel reservations in Bocas del Toro.

The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. Cabin is spacious and easily accommodated the five of us thanks to an extra mattress provided for us. We needed a larger pot to cook noodles in and Ken was quick to offer us one of his to borrow. Pool area is lovely and a diving board is a special treat and a big hit with the kids - we have not seen many of them in our Central America travels.

The only thing that I’d suggest improving is putting a sheet on the bed and not just the comforter (there was a fitted sheet over the mattress but not another one that’s normally under the comforter)

We would highly recommend this to friends and family, although you’ll want your own vehicle b/c it’s located outside of town

We stayed in one of the cabins, and it suited our needs perfectly. The kitchen is well-equipped, there is plenty of hot water, and the cabin is spacious. Ken also allowed our two small dogs. The grounds are great for walking, the pool is beautiful, and don't miss the hike down to the river! Ken is very welcoming and helpful. We will be back!

driving to boquette, panama is search of the boquette river inn... i must of passed it because i did not see it to be informed that the sign is by the highway... well the highway was in constructions and the sign is on a bolder with yellow and black lettering that is easily missed... that should of gave me a club of what was about to come... turning into the road to the inn was so rocky... unless you dont mind ..tearing up your vehicle or rental car..it would of been fine... i stopped..walked about an 1/8 of a mile to the inn to share my displeasure to be told by the owner that if i have any complaints..talk to the government of boquette and he offered no refunds after i asked for my money to find other housing in the area... he said no way was he going to refund my deposit and asked if i wanted to continue the lodging for the total of 3 days... i told him..no and since i can not force you to refund my deposit..i will stay one night and in the morning... i will gladly leave this river inn... i will not report any establishment that i can not prove what i saying .. i have plenty of rocky photos to share.. i hope this report is not deleted for i only tell it like it is...the truth be told

Room Tip: the pool has no umbrellas for shade on sunny days... its a nice deep pool but i would never suggest...

Not mentioned in comment, but to clarify that this gentleman was riding a very sleek 2-wheel Honda motorcycle which, in turn was towing a small trailer. Guests, who arrive in various cars/SUV's, taxis appear to have no problem with the yes, somewhat annoying, 500 m. road into our piece of paradise. Thank you.

Beautiful piece of property above river you can hear and hike down to.
Excellent view of Baru volcano. Cabins are spacious and well separated for privacy.
Two in-house rooms are very nice as well.
Pool and surrounding deck are huge with southern exposure.
Had very nice stay here. Ken provided lots of great tips on things to do around Boquete.
Lots of North Americans in this area but we thought it had the nicest climate and scenery in Country.

Room Tip: Cabin to east of house has most privacy and broader overall view, but other two have views of Baru v...

The property has green green grass with beautiful flowers and a great view of the volcano. The cabin was spacious and had everything you need to prepare meals if you desire to. The extra large pool was sparkling clean. Our host Ken was very enjoyable to talk to and helped us with information. Although the place is a little way from Boquete/it was a quiet and restful time there.
