I was a walk in. I have been in Boquete and Panama 6x prior and this is the best so far.
The area, view, landscape, room, open areas and personnel are wonderful. I have a flat screen TV with many english channels including CNN. You can walk around the grounds which has beautiful flowers and birds including hummingbirds.
It is not far from town. You do not want to stay in town (it's not the greatest). But you can drive to town-it's less than 7 minutes(but too far to walk unless you are athelic (it's on a hill). You do not need a Suv or 4wheel drive from David or Panama City. I rent an economy car to get here. You have a lovely patio. There are robes and covered patios. It is the BEST.

Absolutely loved this hotel. The view was spectacular, the bedroom very comfortable, the food was great and the staff very friendly. We would absolutely stay here again, I can't imagine any other hotel being better. I liked that it was out of the town and quiet. That meant we had to catch a taxi in to town to eat dinner but it only took a few minutes for one to arrive after the hotel called for us.

We were looking for and receiived one of the most relaxing, peaceful holiday experiences'. The best part is sitting out on what we call the "porch" facing a picture perfect view that just relaxes the mind; we have never seen such vivid green plants.
Provides an excellent opportunity to recharge the mind, see wonderful rain forrests and have lot's of good coffee. Don't miss it !!

If you are going to Boquete, the best place where you can stay is Los Establos. It is the property of very experienced innkeepers who own large hotels in the Caribbean Islands, and this is their "baby", so it is lovingly managed and have turned it into a first class inn. It is small, so it is best to have reservations beforehand. No lunch or dinner, although we have been told a dining room is in their plans. Right now a very nice hot breakfast.
Coffee could be improved. Otherwise, there is broadband complimentary internet, nice bathrooms, cable television and a view not to be believed from the hotel. There are some nice restaurants nearby in the small town. Highly recommend this inn!

We'd booked a room with two queen beds. When we arrived there was great consternation because the room they wanted to give us was a double. After a lot of phone calling, and our broken Spanish (no English was spoken by the women that greeted us) we were moved to a suite which had a big bed and a pull out bed.

It was very comfortable and a good sized room with a good bathroom. Everything was rustic but clean.

Finally a man who spoke English came along and confirmed that we could stay in the suite. We got some sandwhiches made for us and wandered around the pretty gardens, which overlook the stunning valley.

We had asked twice for an early breakfast on our first morning since we were to go hiking on the Quetzal Trail. Despite being assured of this, we turned up to find no one there and ended up rooting around the kitchen for cereal and milk ourselves. Finally the two women turned up and thankfully found the coffee that had defeated me, just in time, before our guide arrived to pick us up.

We stayed for three nights, taking taxis ($3 one way) into town to go and eat in the evenings. The English-speaking man was very efficient at ordering the taxis and making sure everything was OK.

The breakfast room has a kitchen at one end, with some small half doors leading into it. To this day I have no idea whether we were supposed to go into the kitchen and help ourselves to things (like wine, Coke, rum etc.) or not. However, we did and we didn't seem to get into trouble!

Los Establos is as lovely a place to stay as described in all these reviews, but we were disappointed that the jacuzzi mentioned in some reviews no longer exists. It has been covered up with a giant parrot cage which is too bad if you are expecting to enjoy the hot tub. Otherwise, you would not mind.

By the way, take your own wash clothes to Panama as they are not provided in hotels or B&B's in Central America.

Los Establos is a beautiful property with beautiful mountain and valley views. The staff was extremely kind and friendly and made my visit very enjoyable. The interior of the property is grand and regal and the outdoor gardens are expertly manicured. I spent many hours relaxing on the lawn reading and birdwatching. My only regret is that the hotel only serves breakfast. Since they have kitchen facilities, I would have appreciated having the ability to eat lunch or dinner there as well since the town is approximately 2 miles (long miles - down a mountain) away and I did not have a vehicle with me. My experience was wonderful though. The room has direct tv and the bathroom is like a spa - tiled shower, bathrobe and slippers are provided for you. The views are spectacular. I would definitely return. This is a place to have a wedding!
